Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica - it was couples/adults only - and AMAZING. Negril is a beautiful beach, the food/drinks were amazing, overall it was just perfect. We went Oct 4-12 this year. October is Jamaica's rainy season and it only rained a couple of times and then cleared right up. Definitely can't wait to go back.
I went in April to Couples Negril and it was AWESOME! basically i echo was cherrycoke said! there are two couples resorts in Negril, i think the only difference was that Couples Swept Away had slightly more activities, but there was already more than enough at Couples Negril and it was slightly cheaper, so we went with that one.
That is where we have been looking to go!!! Only problem is that we would go for 10 days in August and I am worried because it is hurricane season...
@Adeline4: i went to Cuba once hurricane season and it rained about 3 times the whole week for about 10-15 mins each time. just sayin' :)
I have vacationed in the Dominican Republic in early august in 2010 and when I checked the weather before I left, it said like a 60% chance of rain EVERY DAY...but it never rained when I was there! Very tropical, sometimes it would spitz and then stop!
I've been to two adult only all inclusives: Sandals Grand St. Lucia and Secrets Maroma in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Both were amazing but Secrets Maroma was just a little more sophisticated. Although I loved Sandals as well.
I went to both during hurricane season and only had one rain shower the whole time.
Live Aqua in Cancun. It's the best! If you want to relax...that's the place to go. We went at the end of July.
Another vote for Couples....San Souci this time though! Very intimate, lush, and secluded. We went in June and it rained for about an hour the first night we were there. Get travel insurance anywhere you go though - my BIL and his wife were supposed to go to the Dominican Republic, (I think) in late Oct. A hurricane cancelled it and not only did they get a refund to reschedule, but the resort gave them a free vacation to come back in the future!
Zoetry. Very expensive but totally worth it. It's much more intimate than of the larger 900+ room resorts out there.
we have traveled quite a few times to 5 star AI and by far couples negril in jamaica was the most romantic place weve ever been to!!!! we loved it so much were talking about going back for our honeymoon!!!! (theres a few couples resorts in jamaica and iv heard nothing but great things about all of them) good luck :)
@Adeline4: I wouldn't be too worried about hurricanes in Jaimaica if you're going to an all-inclusive resort. From what I've read, all the good ones are on the north and west sides of the island, and the brunt of hurricanes hit the south and east of the island and then there are the mountains. It would probably just rain and be windy, if anything.
But then again, it just poured buckets of rain for four days straight when I went to Vegas, which I thought was a desert.... so I'm not the best person to be giving weather opinions. lol I'm still considering Jamaica.
@Adeline4: We went during hurricane season too. We checked the weather and every day said rain, but like I said, it only rained a couple of times...the rest of the time the weather was beautiful. We purchased trip insurance as well, just in case. Also agree w/ what Elliemae said about where hurricanes are.
Thanks ladies,
You are definitely making me feel better about the weather! We are leaning more toward Jamaica now and I never would have imagined we would be! I will let you know what we decide on.
Sun Palace in Cancun - unreal! And the palace resorts usually have a special on where you get $1500 resort $$ that you can use for anything - room upgrades, the spa, excursions, limo transfers to/from airport...
Another vote here for Couples Negril :). FI and I went last year to be present at my moms DW and it was amazing. We are not beachy people at all (well at least FI isn't for sure he'd never seen the ocean before the trip or been on a plane, give us some deep woods/mountains to hike through and we're good to go though!) and we loved it! It was seriously the most relaxing time I've ever had in my life. The food was amazing, the 5star restaurant was super romantic (all the restaurants were awesome though!), the service was great, the rooms were super cute. The weather was perfect and to wake up and look out at the beach was heavenly. We were just talking about how we want to go back within the next 10 years!
If you go there check out Marley's too, fun times!
I was searching the Couples website and I came across something that you sign up for and recieve special offers every Wednesday though email. Did anyone book at a Couples resort this way?

We are looking for an all inclusive resort for our honeymoon, preferably adults or couples only. What is the best all inclusive you stayed at and at what time of year did you stay there?
