Weddingbee boards

Last weekend my fiance and I were making our way to the Bronx for our montly dinner with his grandma...We get there (saturday night) and its a suprise ENGAGEMENT party for us....our family and friends suprised us..it was great...

So the bad part..as soon as we get there my sister says my mom has been driving from Maryland since 10am..its supposed to take 4 hours tops to get to nyc and she still isn't there because of the weather...she gets to Hoboken, NJ at 8pm, her car hits a pothole and her engine flood and she NEVER makes it to the party.

As upsetting as that was, we decide to have a re-do engagment lunch the next day..my fiance's family is nice enough to agree to do a lunch..we get to the lunch and it is sooo nice to have everyone there...but then we order appetizers, my fiances first bit of chicken gets stuck in his throat..he can't get it out and we have to go to the emergency room..

I couldn't believe it....he is okay, thank god!..the whole weekend though was a comedy of errors.

This better mean that August 21st has amazing weather and is the best day ever!!

Anyone else have similar instances?  I hope all the bad stuff got out last weekend!

not quite similar..but we were going over to the FI's parents' place to meet with them, my parents and have "THE TALK" about the wedding, ground rules, etc etc.  I was SO nervous that when I came home from work I had a drink (aka I'm a lightweight and the one drink put me over the top...).  We went over there (me looking like absolute crap and drunk) and TA DA surprise engagement party.

OMG EMBARASSING

I hate surprises...and when I got there and realized what was going on I turned around and burst out crying.  Then my mom figured out I was drunk and could not stop laughing all night about it!
