Hey newlyweds! We are in the process of registering and I am wondering what the best of worst things you registered for and/or received are?

By far the best thing....wooden shelving from williams-sonoma.  We were able to work wonders with a small closet in our garage turning it into a "china closet" of sorts for all our new kitchen goodies that don't fit in our super tiny kitchen.

The worst thing we received was a huge crystal vase.  While extremely beautiful it is not something we will ever use or have a place to display so I feel guilty that it will forever reside in a closet somewhere.  :(

Best according to husband: new dishes, a good set of knives and new pots and pans...and new grilling tools

Worst according to husband: probably picture frames (He just doesn't understand why we need them.)

Best according to me (so far!): clothing steamer (I hate ironing), good set of pans, serving/entertaining pieces (We haven't had a chance to use them, but they are so cute!), a clothes hamper with separate compartments for different items (so convenient when it's time to do the laundry); gift cards (They've been so useful for groceries and all those odds and ends that come up.)

Worst according to me: tons of towels that are nowhere close to the colors we've chosen for our bathrooms (We got 5 bath towels and 5 washclothes in one color, and three sets of towels/handtowels/washclothes- all in different colors, none of them coordinate/match with any other.) Also a colored basket with a bag of (grossly) scented potpourri (i don't know how to spell that- smelly stuff!) and a strong (not so good smelling) reed diffuser set)- none of it in colors that coordinate with anything in our house.  (I'm really grateful that they wanted to get us a gift, but I don't know what to do with it!)

For me, the best gifts from the registry - new dishes and flatware, and a good set of knives.

The worst gifts I got were those that were not on the registry (ugly stuff, stuff we don't need). Of course, the best gifts I got also were not on the registry, just personal gifts like books or a decorative picture. These were things I couldn't have asked for.

I don't know that there are any "worst" things I registered for. I'm not really excited about gettings sheets or towels.

Best: New dishes and knives and the Cuisinart Griddler.  We have made paninis like 100 times in the last month.  Oh and definitely our vacuum!  Holy cow.  I had no idea there was so much cat hair hanging around on our carpet (which I thought was clean).

Worst: More bowls than I could have imagined.  While they are all nice bowls, I have no idea what to do with them all.  And the only ones that came with a gift receipt are the only ones I don't want to return because I actually like them.

my new cuisinart is a highlight but I had a kitchenaid and a vitamix before (worked at a kitchen store- have poor impulse control and we got a good discount)

I also love my professional (as in kitchen stadium quality) cookware and knives. I reccomend Shun and kyocera ceramic!!!

We really love our knives.  We also love our air popcorn maker and waffle maker.  We haven't used some of the other small appliances yet.  Also a nice vacuum and other cleaning stuff.  Its also nice to have a new set of dishes and glasses.

I got a few vases that are just sitting around in a closet now.  We had to exchange some "odd colored towels" that didn't match our colors.

Best: All the new kitchen stuff!  We had a lot of "starter" pots and pans, and now I can replace them with the fancy Calphalon and All Clad stuff we received!

Most "interesting":  4 paintings by a random African artist... umm, it was a nice thought, but we really don't know what to do with these!  Undecided
