My friend got her bands there as well and highly recommended them for us. We haven't made the trip out yet but I keep looking at their website.
@yumcheese: I just have to thank you for posting this... my fiance also got my engagement ring at Doyle & Doyle, and I searched high and low for a vintage band that would match. Everyone told me I was nuts -- including all the antique jewelry store owners in New Orleans where I looked after exhausting (I thought) all options in New York!
Well, we biked over to Erie Basin a couple of weekends ago and I found my ring within 5 minutes of walking in the door. Made in the same decade as my engagement ring, a different style but I think it goes perfectly! I'm so happy I didn't choose a boring vintage reproduction at 3x the price!

I was so happy to find this store that I just HAVE to share it with you all. If you are looking for antique/vintage jewelery in NYC, look no further than Erie Basin in Red Hook: http://eriebasin.com
It's definitely off the beaten path but SO worth the trip. They have gorgeous engagement rings AND wedding bands. And very reasonable.
I received my beautiful engagement ring that my fiance purchased at Doyle & Doyle, which is also a lovely store. However, when I went back there to try and find a wedding band, they didn't really have a big selection. So I trekked to Erie Basin and they had tons of choices, for both women and men. My future hubby and I both got rings - mine from the 20s, his from the 50s. They are both engraved with the original owner's date/initials which I think is pretty cool too. My ring cost around $250 and his was just under $400. Similar stuff at Doyle & Doyle was over $800. (simple antique band with no stones)
Not to knock Doyle & Doyle, because their jewelery is also incredible. I recommend both places.
