I’ve got most of my registry items researched and picked out thanks to Baby Bargains. Very helpful book for a first time mom who has no idea about where to even start. Now I’m looking for something similarly helpful but more so in the “how to” department. Any suggestions? For example, I want something that lays out how to do specific things and when (feedings, bathings, naps, etc.) Also, I’m looking for something that reviews more of the personal hygeine baby products (soaps, shampoos, powders, etc.) What books did you ladies use and find most helpful?

I went to the library and checked out a ton of books over the past few weeks! I don’t know exact titles, but I suggest doing that and just skimming through while you’re there, and then check out what you want to read more of. 🙂

My SIL gave me the baby 411 book and said it saved her. I’ve browsed it so far and think it seems helpful. It’s made by the same company as the baby bargains.

@hspw714: baby 411. Not sure there are any books with reviews on baby care items- I would look aroun amazon. Try to find stuff with less chemicals and you’ll be good.
i have a 9w old and honestly, no prep is really going to do much for you. It will just stress you out. I say know how to diaper, have clothes & go with it. Also if you intend to breastfeed (tho I suggest you be open to not- no need to put pressure on yourself) know how to use your pump.
No need for a schedule- they will let you know. My little advice is to try to keep baby awake for a few min- even 20 or 30 after every feeding in the beginning.

@mamadingdong: +1. Read them all and nothing prepared me more than just getting in there and dealing with everything as it happened…
