Definitely get the ones that flicker. I got some from Big Lots 6/$5, but I'm pretty sure they sell them almost everywhere. I heard some people had luck at the Dollar Tree with 2/$1 ones, but I don't know what type they were.
I'm not sure what brand they are but I like the ones with a more "rubber-y" feel and the "flame" is bendable instead of the stiff plastic candle & flame. They look much more realistic when "lit".
I saw a big pack of them at Sam's Club. I don't know how well they work or how realistic they are but the price was right.
Oooh, I'd love to see your lanterns! I'm with lampshade--the Sam's Club ones are $14.98 for a pack for 24. They're the type that flicker, and they look like normal tea lights.

Where can I get the best, most realistic battery operated tea lights? I want to hang these small tea light lanterns I bought on the church pews. The church wedding director expressed a concern about the heat from the candle next to the wooden pew and suggested I use a battery operated tea light instead. I really want to use the lanterns, but I don't want the battery operated candle to look tacky. Any recommendations?
