No I have yet to find a decent resource – everything is scattered around the internet.  If you find one, let me know!

I think the internet is a better source for that, unfortunately. I didn’t come across any actual books when I was looking. Would be a cool idea to write one, though!

Hmm. . . I don’t know of any books dedicated entirely to non-religous wedding vows/readings. Someone should get on that! Shakespeare is always great for that, and there are some really beautiful passages in the first few chapters of the Portable Atheist that could probably be adapted pretty well. I imagine any book of love poems would be mostly secular and a great resource as well.

Someone sent me “Wedding Blessings” by June Cotner. There is a small section of religious stuff, but the rest of the book has poems, toasts, vows, and other readings and stuff that are either completely secular or are easy to make secular. I dogeared a bunch of pages from the book, and I’m a devout athiest.

FI and I are taking parts from our favorite books that we’ve read together to use as readings, one from Les Miserables and one from The Fault in Our Stars.

For the vows we’re taking the traditional ones and modifying/adding stuff to them. There will be no icky obey stuff, but we will add something about communication and respect, for example.

@amyj1276:  Thanks for the recommend! Just bought it for my Kindle to read on the plane over Xmas, it looks great!
