I would test a couple out, they’re pretty cheap I think, could probably even get some from the dollar store. I have very fine hair too so I know things slip easily but if that’s what you’re worried about I think you usually use bobby pins to hold the comb in place once it’s in. Good luck 🙂

I have thick curly corse hair that can hold a french braid with out a hair tie, I had a Cathederal length veil for my wedding.  It had a plastic comb, fine tooth and still kept falling out.  It didn’t help that someone… cough cough .. ME cough kept stepping on it and yanking it out.   My cousin bobby pinned the comb in my hair and never had a problem.  I wouldn’t rely soley on the  comb, I’d bobby min them in.

@78science:  Maybe the ones with wavy/textured teeth? But I think it’s probably the bobby pins that are really holding it, the comb just gives them something to achor the veil.

My hair is the same–very fine, very thin, and slick. I have heard that metal combs are better than plastic. I should have my veil here by early next week–it shipped locally today so I can let you know for sure when I get it in.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I ended up hating my first veil and had to get a second one. The second one had a plastic comb in it, and I actually didn’t have any problems. It was so secure I finally had to step away from the reception to try to get it out during the reception when I wanted to lose the veil. Mine was fingertip length so no worries about stepping on it, but as a dancer I always second the bobby pin it in idea. If you crisscross the bobby pins, it helps hold it more secure.
