The day we were married was pretty awesome, but I'm not sure if it was the best. I have a hard time picking the best day. I had some pretty good adventures abroad too that might be right up there at the top of the chart in terms of "best".
I was always one of those people who believed that the wedding day wouldn't be the best day of my life. But then I was pleasantly surprised at the end of the night because the wedding day was pretty great!
Well, I chose "the day we were married" but I'm pretty sure that will change to "the day my child was born" after that happens. My wedding day was just wonderful and I loved it.
Our wedding totally floored me - I wasn't expecting it to be so awesome but I had an amazing time. But best day? I don't really t hink so. I don't even know what that would be. I could never decide on one single best day! Our wedding is probably in the top 10. But yeah, like amareim25, I didn't have any notion beforehand about the wedding being "the best day of my life" or anything.
It was the day we got back from the wedding. After driving seven hours and unloading two cars of presents we finally sat down for a minute around midnight and I realized I didn't have to pack my bag back up in couple days and head back home, I was staying this time.
I wasn't expecting it to be the best day ever either (I didn't really believe in that for awhile) but it definitely surprised me and is a contender lol I'm hoping one day to have a baby and that will replace my best day ever (as well as the day we learn we're pregnant! that day must be so exciting).
I know there are a variety of opinions on how great yoru wedding day will be...I didn't fgeel any pressure to have a perfect wedding day, and it wasn't perfect. Things went wrong and didn't turn out how i wanted them but it was the still the best day, because I married the man i plan to spend the rest of my life with, and we were surrounded by our very spread out family and friends.
Having everyone together loving us and supporting us is the most incredible feeling!
[Having a baby is in another category entirely in my mind...and we're years from that!]
I voted our wedding day as being the best ever so far. Although, those Saturday afternoons we spend together going for walks on a crisp fall day, deciding to eat lunch at a fancy restaurant spur of the moment, coming home to snuggle on the couch, etc. are very close seconds :)
But, despite the things that went wrong on our wedding day, it truly was the best day thus far.
The wedding, which surprised me, was the best day of my life so far. It was completely stress-free (elopements rock!) and blissful. I can't believe how joyous and light I felt the entire day. I didn't worry about a single thing and just floated through the whole day. I had so much fun!
It is hard to pin point one best day. The wedding was a great day, but I don't know about the best. Actually, the day of the propsal was probably better because I spent the entire day with my husband, vs. being separated from him most of the day like i was on our wedding day :)
But then again the wedding was a wonderful day too, LOL I'm too indecisive!
So far, I think that the day he proposed was the best day in my life. While I loved our wedding, it all went by in such a blur that I barely remember the ceremony. The reception was sort of like hanging out with my friends which didn't really make it that special. I do hope that I have a lot more 'best days' later on! I don't want the rest of my life to be downhill!
It's so hard to just pick one day, but I know it wasn't the wedding day lol. Not that it was a bad day, but I didn't have as great of a time as I would have liked. I'm just not that social of a person, and there were SO many people I didn't know at the wedding, I just felt self conscious a lot of the time.
I picked 'other'; the best day I can think of right now was when my then fiance (now husband) came home from the hospital; he had been really sick for a really long time, and the doctors finally figured out what was wrong with him, treated him, and after a week I got to bring him back home.....I can't even describe the relief I felt. We had had a really long engagement and that illness was the thing that lit a fire under us to get married already! It made us realize just how fragile life is, and that at any moment it could just end....
I am not sure if I would categorize the day we got engaged as the best day of my life. It is certainly the most important day in my life so far in terms of big decision days (no babies or marriages under my belt!) but I think would I have to think hard about if it was the BEST. DAY. EVER. Maybe a day with lots of smaller joys would be better for that title? Something I am going to think about tonight!!
The best day of my life was one of the days we were on our honeymoon. It was completely perfect and just us.
I imagine the day we have a baby might trump that though if/when it happens. :)
Absolutely, 100% the day I was proposed to. It was completely unexpected, and I was so unconditionally happy that no one could rain on my parade that day.
The wedding day was by far the most stressful day of my life. My mom wouldn't let me relax, and I felt as if the only time I had with my husband was during the ceremony, our first dance and after we put my parents in a car to go home.
The honeymoon...by far the most relaxing days of my life. Just me and the hubby...pure bliss!
The day we got married was so full of love and laughter surrounded by those who mean the most to us, I cant imagine anything being better. It was the best day so far....
From our Best Man's toast - "May the worst day of your future be better than the best day of your past." :)
The day we got married was one of the best days. But THE best day? I dunno, I'm only 26, I'd like to think I'm going to have plenty more amazing days in my lifetime. The day he proposed was up there, was well as later that week when we were in Hawaii and snorkeled with gigantic manta rays... it was really breathtaking and it was one of the coolest things I've ever done before.
So I'll just say I have a top 10 in no particular order as far as the best days ever go.
None...i've had too many "omg what a perfect day" moments with my SO. Just those moments where things aren't really happening...you're just happy and content to be with each other, doing what you do...whether it's having dinner or watching tv. I dunno, sometimes i get these epiphanies when I"m doing something ordinary and it just makes my day extraordinary.
I refuse to sucumb to the "one day" aspect of my life in regards to anything. There are too many beautiful moments to enjoy to single any one day out as the best simply because something happened.
@ejs: "epiphanies" - perfect way to describe it. There are these moments, sometimes seemingly random, but you suddenly realize that everything is perfect.

So, I have been trying to decide if my wedding day or the day I was proposed to was the best day of my life thus far. The wedding was great and I completely loved it, but the propsal was also amazing. Simple, but totally an unexpected surprise (definitely the biggest surprise of my life!) I really don't know! I'm leaning towards proposal because while I loved the wedding, there was ZERO stress (for me, heh) on that day. Pure, pure bliss.
Newlyweds, what has been the best day of your life so far?
