I've been looking into good deodorants/antiperspirants, because I was developing pit stains.
What I found out was that the aluminium salts in deodorants/antiperspirants seems to be a major factor in developing pit stains.
What I also found out is that if you're a woman, it seems you're not allowed to sweat. Every single women's brand at the store I was at was a deod/antipersp. What a pain!
My bf suggested I try Old spice (I was desperate and didn't want to spend 5 dollars on Tom's), but the only scent I liked was the one he wears...
I got the Tom's 12 hr in apricot, it works really well as a deodorant and smells great, but if you sweat buckets, you may want to need an additional application or two. I find that at the end of a long and sweaty day, I am just beginning to smell like it's been a long and sweaty day.
It is not a deodorant but an antiperspirant. You have to use it at night because it will stain your clothes and then wash it off in the morning. After a couple of days, your underarms will be like the Sahara. It is the OTC version of the prescription antiperspirants you can get. They have a CertainDri AM you can use as an actual deodorant during the day.
I can wear anything now and not have to think twice about spots.
Once you use it you will wonder why everyone who has ever sweated doesn't use it.
When I was younger I use to sweat REALLY bad so my docotor prescribed me Drysol. it worked wonders...other than you didn't want to use it right after you shaved or it would burn in the worse way. I would defintely recommend it.
I have been using the supre stregth "clinicial" ones that they came out with. I've used them all and love them all - Right now I have Dove - you use them at night but I also use them in the day. It takes a VERY hot VERY sticky day for it to NOT work.
I just bought Certain Dri and have been experimenting with it. It does seem to work quite well. You put it on at night and then I've been using my normal Dove in the morning. I think I could get away with just using the Certain Dri maybe 2-3x per week. I don't think it's the healthiest thing. I actually think it would be healthier to have Botox injections to help cut down on perspiration, but I am only doing it for the wedding so the Cetain Dri will work for me at less than $5!
Certain Dri. But its is very easy to irritate the skin with it. I only use it a couple times a week. And also Degree Clinical is really good. The smell is really strong though
I started using Dove Clinical Protection a couple of weeks ago and it WORKS!!!! I was a Secret girl for years but Dove has won me over.
Just to report back. I have been using the Certain Dri now for a couple of weeks and have noticed a huge difference. You only need to use it 2-3x per week at night before you go to bed. Then just use your ususal stuff in the morning. Actually, I have forgotten in the morning a couple of times and ws still protected. I got mine at Target.
@happilywaiting this post intrigues me!! haha I am a secret girl but want to try the dove now :)
I hate the ones that have a strong smell ... I once wore Doves cucumber one and everything kept saying what a nice smell I had ... hello it is on my underarms
I like Fresh Sugar best. It's my favorite and the smell is mild and nice.
I love certian dri, it's the best, I don't even have to use it every night now cause it just seemed to keep me from sweating in general, so i use it about 2-3 times a week at night with my regular one in the morning!
certain dri will absolutely make it impossible for sweat to escape your skin! i agree that it's probably totally unhealthy, but i will be using it for my wedding day, yes.
Certain Dri is the best! I plan on using it 2 weeks regularly before my wedding and supplementing on days w/o it with dove or degree (for some reason my body stops responding to deoderant/ani persprant....weird, so I rotate them)
There are many brands of antiperspirants you can choose from, with one of the stronger ones being Drysol. You only need to apply it once a day – it’s not like regular deodorant.Several people have said that Drysol is the best antiperspirant for treating Excessive Sweating. It is very useful to people who are using Drysol for Underarm Sweating. As a matter of fact, hyperhydrosis is not limited to the armpits alone, so it is virtually impossible to stop sweaty palms, soles, and those annoying drips on the face. Drysol was created specifically as a treatment for problem areas and can solve the problem, once and for all, with regular, infrequent weekly applications at night.
It's not impossible to stop sweaty palms and feet. I used drysol on my palms and feet because they sweat more than my underarms. It's amazing! You have to get it from the doctor though.
I'll be using Certin Dri the night before and the Certin Dri AM in the morning.
@Larissa George: I sweat on my forehead when I'm hot...is it possible to use that Drysol there? I read a wedding blog where people said that they put deodorant on their upper lip to stop beading, but I worry about my forehead, especially with a heavy dress and makeup on! Thanks!!
Second the Degree Ultra Clear (the little black dress one
) I love that stuff so much I'm always amazed more people don't rave about it. I'll be wearing it this weekend to keep me dry and non-stinkified.
