OK ladies need your advice. We weren’t planning on doing engagement photos, but our photographers were super sweet and told us they’d throw it in for free. OK..so where is the best or most unique place for an engagement photo shoot in the Seattle area?

SAM sculpture garden? Maybe not unique, but lots of potentially cool shots and Elliot Bay backdrop.

unique? The you should rule out:
Waterfront, UW, Seattle sculpture park, Volunteer park, arboretum, gasworks, Fremont, Ballard, locks, anywhere on Capitol Hill, alki…
Geeze…unique is hard.
I think we’re going to go with a combo of UW (since that’s where we met) and an old bar so we can have some super cool black and whites.

Miss Sapphire–we don’t care about ours being unique, and you just listed lots of great ideas for ours, thank you!
Wagamama, what kind of look do you like? Do you want a park-like background? Or pictures with the city skyline in the background? Industrial background? Modern architecture or old buildings?
The other day, a coworker recommended that we check out the Center for Wooden Boats in South Lake Union, I guess you can rent any kind of a boat for the day. That might be kind of cute–a picture of you and your FI rowing around 🙂
Maybe your favorite restaurant? There are so many great cafes in Seattle. We went to dinner at Quinns the night my FI proposed, so maybe we’ll try to incorporate that into ours. BTW, if you have never tried Quinns, it’s so delicious (unless you’re a veggie–it’s mostly meat).

If they’d go for it, maybe you could do a shoot on a Ferry boat? I think it’s the ferry to Vashon ferry that has some really nice views of Mt. Rainier.
Or Gasworks for a more industrial type feel…I actually think it could be really cool. Hmmm…now I wish we were still in Seattle and could do them there 🙂

Thanks so much everyone! Yes, I notice when you look at the blogs everyone has the e-session photos taken at: alki, discovery park, arboretum, pike place market… pretty, but typical. I love all your suggestions! I think the two of us have different ideas of what we want..I want a gritty urban feel (Georgetown anyone) but he’s looking for a more urban sophisticate. Thanks Bees!

We used the Japanese garden at the Arboretum as we wanted to do something different, and the pub where we went after our first date.

We did ours at Kerry Park, Boeing Field and a little non-profit skate park under 99 south of the stadiums. They turned out fantastic.
