Hi! I am trying to find out what were the best edible favors you've recieved. I am looking for a good consumable favor to give. I was thinking chocolates, tea, and or honey. Any ideas or thoughts? We are already having people take home pieces of cake with milk singles (the ones that come in those cute sippy boxes). Is that enough?
I think the slice of cake and milk is plenty. Its something they will actually eat and enjoy. I much prefer that to "novelty" type food items that rarely ever get eaten. What are you having the guests put their piece of cake in?
Cake and milk -- yum yum! Should be plenty. I was going to suggest truffles when reading the topic, but cake and milk is better. Tea and honey would likely get left behind -- especially the honey. You don't want that to start leaking in your purse or suitcase...
If your doing the cute little monogram bakery boxes, then i would definiely leave it at that. Most other favors tend to get left behind and only appreciated by a select few, IMO.
I like the chocolate place card idea the best. I am using my engagement picture and they will print the guest's name and table # right onto the chocolate. What a good idea, I need place cards and this is also my favor. If you want to see what I am talking about go to: www.chocolatedreamsandwishes.com
Chocolates! :) My friend gave out cupcakes at a recent wedding. On the other hand, we are considering personalised mint tins (but with only the date of our wedding, as opposed to our names so that it's less personal but yummy enough for people to take them along) and chocolates (which are sponsored by our venues).
We went to a wedding where they gave out Pez dispensers as favors. They were super cute and well-received. After we sat down at our table, we spent the first five minutes bartering trades to get the Pez dispenser we wanted.
cake and milk is great :) but if you really want, I think the sort of thing you can eat as is are most likely to get used, so chocolate and candy, as opposed to tea, honey, maple syryp or jam. I have to say I have yet to use any of the later group and I've received basically all of them at weddings, even if I do ordinarily sometimes eat these things. I just forget about the favour sized ones.
We had truffles at our wedding and they were a bit hit, any leftovers had disappeared by the end of the night. We had four flavors total, but boxed two truffles per person together and everyone loved them! Our four flavors were: chocolate, tiramisu, caramel, and mint chocolate. They were made by a local chocolate place, but we got a great deal on them because of ordering in large quantity.
Mints are one of my favorite classic editable favors! Have you tried this cute company called Plum Drama they have mint tins, tea tins, etc. http://www.plumdrama.com”> party favors
I love your idea of cake singles with your own personal milk. I think that is plenty! Maybe add a sticker to the cake bag a cutsey unique touch!
I like the idea of cake and milk. If you want to make it more fun, why not get different kinds of milk - plain, chocolate, soy. Or get the ones in cute little single serving bottles. I would be happy camper if I could get some milk and cake/cookies to go. Get nice personalized boxes for cake if you want to make it look cuter.
