I want my bridesmiads to pick out their own black dresses. However, I’m scared this will happen:
The love the color of the 3 dresses on the right, but the two on the left are a much more dull black. Is this because of the fabrics? What fabrics would be best to make sure this doesn’t happen?

It depends on the reflection/shiny-ness that a fabric gives off. Silk, satin, charmeuse and sometimes even cheaper chiffons will look like the dresses to (our) left. The dresses to (our) right are a dull black because they are made of cotton-y fabrics that do not reflect light (cotton knits).

Even a poly blend knit would work. You might want to actually just go to a frabric store and buy 0.1yards and give ever girl a sample so they know what to look for. Give them a few options if you can and when they shop it should help a lot.
