I had to share with you Bees!
Some may know that, with less than 60 days till the big day, my florist/cake baker went all nutso and I had to let her go. I was flipping out. How am I going to find a florist available within budget? EEEP
I found out through a friend that my venue opened up a flower shop next door. Feeling like I may be able to get a deal since I am using their venue, I made an appointment.
After chatting with the florist for a bit, she looks at me and says, “I am going to be unprofessional- may I ask what your budget is?” I told her that I was not planning on spending more than $600 with the other lady, but I know I am in a bind and I can work around that.
She offers this: They are a new shop, just opened in April. They don’t have a lot of exposure, and the florist herself wants some publicity. She has 13 years experience, but none in this shop. She also wants a photo album showcasing her work. If we can make her an album and if we can up our budget to $1,000, she will do all the flowers AT COST.
To give me an idea of the amazingness she is offering, she told me that if we added in labor and mark-up, it is like getting $3,000 worth of flowers. I about fell off my chair.
She wants to do a lot of really cool things to show off her skills and all I have to pay for is the flowers at cost. I am still in a daze. Before, I was just doing bouquets for my BMs and me, bouts, and corsages. I get all that now with altar decorations, Aisle decorations, gift, cake, and guestbook table decorations. She is doing all our centerpieces and then just some extra pieces to fill the space up. She is asking me if she can decorate this and that. It’s crazy!
I cannot believe my good luck. I had no idea my wedding could become so incredible. I am so excited!
