Best appetizer: anything with cheese. I love the cheese displays and my cousin had these little bread pieces with some cheese and balsamic vinegar…yummy! Oh, or stuffed mushrooms!! Or spinach dip! I just love apps haha

Best main course: crab cakes (from buffet). Love crab anything!

Best side dish: Roasted red potatoes. Pretty standard but I love those little things

Best dessert: my step-brother had a coconut flavored cake and it was soooo good! Super moist and tasted great.

@toelopeornottoelope: we served bbq chicken breast,  macaroni and cheese,  southern style green beans, cornbread (sweet), and salad at our wedding.  I had ordered 2 breasts per guest. We barely had anything left over, and not every guest showed up. i think guests enjoy comfort food. I was so set on not serving a traditional wedding meal, and am so glad i didn’t.  Everyone has given me such rave reviews on the food. 🙂

I agree with @IzzyBear:  anything with cheese wins with me.

Appetizer: There are a lot of apps. I love bree with fig on crustini. Mini quiches. Mini grilled cheeses (with a shot of tomato soup!). The obvious fruit, veggie, cheese and cracker stand. Fried mac and cheese balls.

Entree: As a vegetarian, it’s usually slim pickings for our kind as far as the entree. One wedding completely forgot my dinner. Or it’s usually of bunch of limp over steamed veggies. So the best entres have been the ones that the caterers have put some thought into – One, I think was a spinach pie  with the usual veggies and mashed potatoes like everyone else. Another did eggplant lasagna on a bed of greens.

Side: I honestly can’t think of a single time a side has stood out to me. I love me some mac & cheese though. Or cream spinach.

Dessert: Dessert bar always wins. Hands down. I do like cup cakes too.

Wedding cake: Cannoli cake!

@toelopeornottoelope:  best appetizers: friends who brought in signature dishes from some of their favorite restaurants (Peking duck wraps, Korean fried chicken wings, sushi).  Best main: mahi with a mango salsa – best catering meal I have ever had.  Best side: can’t remember a standout…I’d love to go to a wedding with a mashed potato or pasta bar, though!  Best dessert (non-wedding cake): (tie) an ice cream sundae bar and a fire pit with s’mores.  Best wedding cake: again, nothing stands out to me!  Lots of lovely-to-look-at cakes, but they all tend to taste the same (boring!).
