I’ve been watching a good amount of documentaries lately (don’t know why, I just got on a documentary kick) and I’ve watched “Food, Inc”, as well as “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead” (which was amazing). Anyone have any other good ones that you’d like to share?

I was going to suggest both of those, but looks like you are already there, haha!
I really liked Sicko by Michael Moore about the health insurance industry. I’m normally not a big fan of his, but found it really interesting.
Other ones I have liked: Food Matters, Food Fight, and Super Size Me.

I saw Food, Inc, and it really made me think about things. If you liked that, then you would probably enjoy reading “Eating Animals” by Jonathan Safran Foehr. Amazing and informative book- and written in a very entertaining way, considering the subject matter. I read that over a year ago and have been a staunch vegetarian since. No meat, no eggs, and nothing made with eggs. It was hard at first, but I lost about 15 pounds JUST doing that, and I physically feel so much better.
I too have been on a documentary kick- but lately I’m into world history and outer space ones… Netflix streaming has eaten my life! Haha

Good recommendations! I love documentaries, too. Food Inc. was great, if depressing.
My sister, who is really educated about a lot of the current food issues, told me that “Forks Over Knives” is a must-see. I think it might not be released on video till next month or so, but it’s definitely in my queue!

It’s not quite as ideological as the films that have been mentioned, but King Corn is a favorite of mine. It’s done in a really unique way and I learned a lot. It is really entertaining and funny at times, too.

The food documentaries I have seen are already listed, so no imput on that besides Fat Head, a rebuttal to Super Size Me. It isn’t as financed and fancy as Super Size Me, but personally, I like the point of view and support a lot more.
But strictly health/medical wise…Under Our Skin. It’s about lyme disease. I don’t know why, but it blew my mind. Great documentary.

Awesome! I’ve seen “Super Size Me” as well, and really liked it. I’ve been reading “The Omnivore’s Dilemma”, and that’s really informative, too.
I love the suggestions! Thanks, ladies!
