Hey everyone, first of all.. sorry this isnt wedding related, but I feel this is a fantastic post to get girl advice.
Well, I have never really had a problem wearing foundation! I’ve worn it since 5th grade actually 6/7 days a week! Lately though, my face has been feeling so incredibly filthy (mentally) and I almost cant stand to wear it anymore because of how gross it feels on my skin.
I’ve used the same foundation (Maybelline Bare Naturals Powder) for YEARS and never had a problem until now! It just feels so greasy after a few hours. I havent really found a liquid I like enough to wear it without powder. I need full coverage.
I have ***slightly*** oily skin in my T-zone.. any foundation suggestions? I would appreciate it! I feel so gross everyday and I’m tired of it 🙁

I personally love Make Up Forever’s HD foundation. It’s very light, yet covers well. I find it very comfortable to wear. On most days I actually mix it with Cetaphil moisturizer to make it even lighter.

Clinique! I swear by it! I have Perfectly Balanced, but they have different choices, and all feel like absolutely nothing! Except the really moisturizing foundation, it is for dry skin so on me it’s a bit oily.

maybe your skin just needs a break?
have you tried cutting down to just a tinted moisterizer for a little while?
or do you use blotting pads to keep your face from getting oily or shiny while your makeup is on?

Maybe try a primer beforehand and a light dusting of finishing powder on your t zone after. You could also try a new foundation.

I dont like the idea of plotting pads and dont use them reguarly. And no, i wont take a break from wearing makeup.. 🙁
The primer is a great idea.. I’ve thought about trying a primer before but wasnt sure if it actually helped with anything.
I do use finishing powder most days! I notice that it does help a bit in the “feeling dirty and gross mid day” department.
@DeathByDesign: Oh really? Great! I will look into that! I dont think I’ve heard of it before. I’m glad it covers well!
@rosworms: I cannot take a break unfortunately, I try to on the weekends but normally there is a function to go to.. :/ I have tried plotting papers but what I would really love is a foundation that doesnt require that. I dont have oily skin at all really!
@Mrs.Sunflower: Thank you! I believe I have tried Clinique many years ago and forgot why I stopped. I’m glad it feels like you are wearing nothing! Its important!
Thank you guys – I appreciate your help!

I’m a big fan of the micabella mineral foundation. Most days I just use it mixed in with my moisturizer but is also great on its own.

American Beauty (available at Kohl’s) makes a great foundation that is affordable and good quality. Gives great coverage & I don’t feel it when I’m wearing it. I follow up with their powder too. MAC’s Studio Sculpt also gives great coverage and looks very natural. However, it is hydrating, so if you have oily areas you might want to try a MAC foundation for oily skin (like Studio Fix, a combo of foundation & powder). Good luck!

I use Dior foundation, and I absolutely love it because I can’t feel that it is even on.

I really like Perfekt. It’s a gel and it’s transluscent. I use concealer to cover up any trouble spots.

Just wanted to update, I went out and bought Revlon Color Stay the other night just because it was cheap and I couldnt make it to a mall to get sample the other ones you guys have suggested. It covered really well but not as well as I would like. It felt pretty dewey as well 🙁 it will do for now.

I have tried others, but I love my Mary Kay foundation. It is light, smooth, without drying out my skin or leaving an oily feeling like the others I’ve tried (cover girl, revlon, etc.)

What’s your face-washing regime? I’ve heard you can wash your face and/or hair with dish soap to cut the “grease” (just don’t use one with bleach alternative!). Still wouldn’t do this every day, but maybe once in a while, just to get rid of the guck.
And definitely use powder on the T-zone!
