Maybe some home baking? Some cool magazines to read? A postcard from your travels.Thank you notes from the pets? ...She sounds like an amazing best friend...congrats!
My sister recently pet sit for us and we did what you mentioned, plus left her a gift card for a nearby restaurant and a gift card for the movies. This way she could use them during the week or save them for later.
@deucesarewild1: My neighbor pet sits for me I usually get things like: gift certificates to her favorite restaurants, pedicures, gift certificates for facials, candies, bottle of wine, movie certificates....Just a few things I've done in the past! oh I also write a cute little thank u card and sign the dogs names :-)
I think what you're doing is plenty. The basics are covered, food, wine, food :) Giving her cable/internet access and she'll be fine :)

My best friend is house/pet sitting for us for 2 weeks. We have 2 little dogs and I'd say they're of low to medium maintenance but she really loves the dogs, so that helps.
She lives with her parents so on one hand it'll be nice to get some privacy, on the other I know that pet sitting can be a pain in the ass and our house is nothing special, save the tv and laptop haha. Plus the 2 dogs that need care. Very little mail collection, no outside maintenance, only a few small plants to water. Commute is a little shorter from our place but not enough to get excited over.
She doesn't expect any compensation and was right on top of saying "yes" when we asked but I'm trying to figure out what a good gift would be.
We're both sort of low income, though she's come a long way since moving home. Anyway... so far I'm planning on leaving a bottle or two of wine, a stocked pantry and fridge, some of her favourite drinks, a $50 gift card for groceries, more if the pantry is more sparse, plus some cash for incidentals, a souvenir when we return and...?
What else? Suggestions? I don't think she would accept straight cash so maybe another gift or a few more things to make her stay more comfortable?
Thanks ladies! :)
