I never ever thought I would describe a washer or dryer as sexy, but I'm really curious if those LGs are as good as they look! Not that I can imagine spending that much on something like that right now, but it's fun to day dream!
we have a front loading HE LG. it is a great washer but it smells! something about the rubber seal inside. we have to leave the door open all the time to air it out. they sell expensive tablets to get rid of the smell but that only lasts until you wash again. also, make sure you can put it in the basement because it vibrates like crazy.
I don't have a front loading washer, but I recently had an appliance repaired. I was talking with the repairman and he was telling me how expensive it was to repair a front loading washer. I know that you're not planning on it breaking any time soon, but it might be very expensive when the time comes.
My FI is the manager of a major appliances dept and only gave me the options of LG, Samsung or Electrolux. I knew what I wanted as soon as he gave me my choices...Electrolux!! Although at the time we didn't have the money to buy both the washer and dryer at the same time, so we figured we would get the LG and with the money that we saved we would wait on the Elextrolux.
I agree with ASDJD that the LG washers can start to have a rubber smell to them, but as long as you leave the door open after you use it, to dry out, it goes away. The features on the LG's are great too! I have steam, which I love because of allergies.
If you have the money, I would say Electrolux, but if you don't feel the need to spend that much on a washer/dryer (they are pricey!!) I would go with the LG. That's just my opinion. :)
Oh no. My mom went through like 4 washer/dryers before she fell in love with the ones she has. I love them too. I'll have to check what brand etc. they are. I'll let you know.
I really don't like my front load washer. Its gets mold in the front of it. It has a lip around the door, where water drains into it and it gets moldy and I can't get it out OR get the stain to go away. Also, it stinks a lot, I think from the mold.
I love the way it looks, but I hate the washer.
Oh, and it claims to wash 15 pairs of jeans...such a lie. it can't even handle 5. They get SUPER tangled and they get those deep creases that end up leaving permanent marks on them. its so annoying!
My parents have a GE set that are pretty awesome! I know you can find the ones they have at Best Buy or HH Gregg I think.
