Once we’re married, my fiance and I won’t be doing anything to avoid pregnancy. We are both still currently on our parents health insurance until we can find something that works for us (we will have something set up by the wedding day). We are open to finding something other than what is offered at his job, and I will not be working.
We know that we want to deliver at home with a midwife, and I know that while most insurances don’t cover this, some do. I figured I would check here to see if anyone could recommend a good insurance company for someone who is planning on having lots of babies!

I’m not sure where you are but here in Texas my MW has worked with quite a few different insurances. We don’t have insurance so we just paid out of pocket (3400 for prenatal, birth, postnatal).
I would call some midwives in your area & see if they could tell you who they’ve worked with. 🙂
I actually met my midwifemonths before we started ttc so it’s never to early to start building that relationship, especially when considering a homebirth setting. 🙂

@runsyellowlites: yes we definitely want to build a relationship with someone first! i just moved to the area so we really only have a few months to meet and find someone- yikes! I’m just coming to the realization that i could potentially be pregnant 4 months from now!
gotta get moving!

I was told that most insurances will cover it as an Out of Network Exception…
