Can you wear red? I think a red dress with black accessories would make you look pretty cohesive with the groom and maybe the MOH should stick with gold accessories?
If you're standing up next to the groom, it'll be pretty obvious you're with the groom. I think a black dress would be nice.
Since there's only two of you, I wouldn't worry too much about being too similar to the bridesmaid. Go with a black dress.

I defintely think that both you and the MOH could do black as PP's have suggested. Since you will be standing next to the groom it should be pretty obvious. And I don't think it would be bad if you also did red accessories. I'm an accessory kind of gal, and believe me, you can TOTALLY change a LBD with awesome jewelry.
Thanks everyone! We are leaning towards the black. Was just wondering if there are some other options we haven't thought of. I have also suggested the black suit/tux...
I can't wear red bec it is against the bride's culture for anyone else to wear red at her wedding (it's akin to wearing white--::gasp::).
I will let you know how it turns out!! Maybe I'll just wear a name tag. hahahaha

So my bf is a man and he has asked me to his best 'man'. They are not having a full wedding party- just me and the maid of honor. The wedding colors are red and gold, but the maid of honor is wearing. Black dress, with perhaps gold or red accessories. For cultural reasons, the maid of honor can't wear red. The groom is wearing a black suit with a red tie.
Any ideas on how I can dress to make it obvious that I am with the groom? The couple is soliciting ideas:) thanks for your help bees!!
