Don't buy a Fiskar's portable rotary trimmer :)
It was really difficult to line up my pieces with that trimmer. If I did it again I think I'd choose a guillotine style.
I bought a paper trimmer a couple weeks ago for our invitations. I got Making Memories precision paper trimmer with self-sharpening blade, bought it at AC Moore with a 40% coupon for $30. It's good, so far.
I went with the guillotine style and the $50 for this has more than paid for itself (invites, placecards, reply cards, signs for around the reception area, etc.) http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/item/12-Guillotine-Trimmer-Wide-Base/2903.013/489967.html
And, all you have to do to sharpen the blade is cut tinfoil!
The most accurate method is to use an exacto knife with a straight edge and a cutting mat.
I have a Swingline 12" dial-a-blade rotary cutter and can't get straight cuts for the life of me.

I'm searching around for a reasonably priced, but fairly high quality paper trimmer for our DIY wedding invitations and other projects. We're planning on printing the invites on 8x11 sheets of paper, and then cutting them down to size. Does anyone have any good recommendations? What brand should we buy?
