My mom read “Cesar’s Way: The Natural, Everyday Guide to Understanding and Correcting Common Dog Problems” by Cesar Milan (the dog whisperer) in preparation for her new puppy. She said it was really helpful.

I have enjoyed the training books by the New Skete monks (I’m such a dork, I actually went to New Skete Monasatary and bought an autographed copy and got to meet Brother Christopher, one of the main dog trainers). Growing up I loved the All Creatures, Great and Small books. Right now I am reading a book about working with fearful dogs because my dog is super submissive but independent. It can be a frustrating combination but we want to be the best dog parents we can.
