i am a devout blurb lover! I think it's really easy to use, you can choose from lots of different sizes, layouts and paper quality. And you can always find great coupons online to save $ and shipping!
A friend of mine is married to a photographer and she recommends mypublisher.com
Not sure what you are looking for in a wedding album - this may not be what you are looking for. We're having our photographer do the album and we're planning on using my publisher for the engagement pictures and honeymoon pictures.
Can anyone with experience making an album in blurb give an estimate of how much time it took to make the album? Did you use the blurb layouts or did you import your own layouts from a program like photoshop? Is there any way you can show us the books? online or scans?
I am a huge fan of www.smilebooks.com. I used them to make my guestbook, and it turned out GREAT! High quality pages and a sturdy hard cover.
You can always find awesome coupon codes online, as well! Be sure to google their coupons before you checkout.
i would be happy to show people previews of some of the books that I have made on blurb. If you would like to see them please pm me. I usually spent a couple hours on each book, editing pictures and working on the layout, it was pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it.
I've made a book with shutterfly and liked that one pretty well.
I have one someone made me from mypublisher and that one doesn't seem anywhere near the quality of the shutterfly one I made. The cover isn't that nice, the pages aren't as heavy, and the photo quality isn't as good. Since I didn't make this one, I can't say for certain if these are things you can have the option to upgrade or not.
I'm currently making one with smilebook. That's still in the process, so I don't know what the end result is like, but I do like their user interface better. It's easier to use and has more options (and more interesting options).
I'm planning on making several wedding books for the parents using different companies so I can decide which I like best to make a book for myself. I tried doing research online about the different companies, but reviews seemed to be a pretty mixed bag of which company was best. I'm taking the 4 or so that were consistently in the top of reviews and testing those out myself with the parent books. :)
I've made photobooks with both shutterfly and blurb and I LOVE LOVE LOVE blurb!!! The book we made was amazing!!
thanks again jewell!
And i just found out that you can preview all the public books on blurb. Here is the link to the wedding category:

Lots of people post their books in the message boards on mypublisher too if you are looking for more inspiration.

Hey everybody!
We have our pro photos back and I'm starting to think about making an album. I've made a photo book through Shutterfly before, and while it was a good price I wasn't thrilled with the layout flexibility and cover options. This is a special album, so I want it to be a good quality product. What companies do you recommend for custom photo books?
