I would try Ebay. It seems that its easier to sell brand new dresses on there than used ones. Especially if its a popular designer. plus its always nice to have the security that paypal offers.

I’ll be interested to hear if anyone has first hand dealing with those sites, I have always wondered.

I plan on selling/bringing mine to one of the nicer consignment shops in town I think. Or, we have a few bridal shops that sell used gowns so that may be a good option. I am really not sure at this point.

Good luck!

I also say preownedweddingdresses.com.  I had put my dress up on the WB classifieds, craigslist, and preownedweddingdresses.com.

Within a day or so of putting my dress up on preownedweddingdresses.com, I got a message from two people.  One of them ended up buying it.  It took me only 6 days total for my dress to be gone.  It only took that long because we had to wait a bit for both me and the bride buying my dress to be available on the same day in order to meet.  It was a great process.  She ended up paying me cash, so I didn’t have to go through any payments online, etc.  I went to her house since we were going to be in her area, she tried it on, loved it and that was that. 🙂  Good luck on selling your dress! I would definitely recommend putting it up on http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com.  They only have a $25 fee.  Not bad at all.

@lifeswonderful2day:  I ordered mine new, I haven’teven gotten it in yet LOL but I am just thinking down the line to next summer 🙂 It DOES seem like nothing sells on ebay. Sometimes I see “sold” dresses on the preownedwedding site but dont know anyone personally that has done this or bought this way.

@lifeswonderful2day:  After 3+ months of trying to sell mine on Craigslist, Wedding Bee Classifieds and the Knot Classifieds I took mine to a local second hand store that split the profit with me 50-50.

During the time I had mine online it was just ridiculous, I screened so many scammers, and answered so many questions just to get NOWHERE!  Not to mention I was taking a risk with someone being unhappy with it and Paypal refunding their money and being left with nothing plus shipping costs.  I considered donating to Brides Against Breast Cancer but even they wanted me to donate money for shipping, cleaning and pressing!

I paid $1200 for my dress, it sold for $675-690 (I forget) and I got $340 onces taxes were taken out.  It’s not a lot but I was happy to have it gone and have less of the burden placed on myself.

@lifeswonderful2day:  Yeah the one I found was about a 45 min. drive from my house but hey I only had to go there once and then a few months later she was sending me a check in the mail!
