I wa the one asking for suggestion a while back. I ended up buying mine used from a bride on craigslist. I paid $15 + $10 shipping cost. It's a David's Bridal petticoat with back zipper, just what I was looking for. I found out that those petticoat is handwashable, so no cost for dry cleaning although the one I got is in a very good condition.
I bought my strapless corset bra in downtown LA fashion district for $20.

It really depends on the level of support you need and the level of cinch you need for your middle.
I'm plus size- size 18 clothes and 40 DD bra size... I have had a B**** of a time finding a corset and Fredericks was the best place to find them... some online companies do not accept returns, but Freds does. So, I have had to order like 5 different corsets to see which style holds me in the right way and which cupsize actually works on me. Here's my mini-review
I personally prefer the Ultimate Satin Corset from them... It has the most "hold"... but the max size is a 42D & there are no DDs. This one laces up the back and has the hook and eye front. Super sturdy.
the Lace Inset Corset comes in larger sizes, but doesn't have the best cinch... but feels the most comfortable- I bought one of these for a wedding I was in, and have actually worn it to another wedding I went to- I was able to dance all night in it. This one is not a lace up style & closes up in the front.
The seamless bustier has no boning in front, so IMO it doesn't give enough cinch... it just smoothes. It closes up in the back w/ a hook & eye.
The Dream Hollywood Corset is really cute, but won't work for my dress b/c it just goes right across and it makes my boobs look "porn" like. It laces up in the back and hook& eye in the front... It is also VERY sturdy.
As far as a crinoline goes- look on ebay. I've seen them for as little as $10 in ALL sizes.

I got my slip/crinoline on Ebay for half the price of David's Bridal~mine was $37. You could probably find one for even less.
I got my crinoline on Ebay as a Buy It Now. It was $12.95 with $10 shipping. The quality seems great. I also got 2 flowergirl dress crinolines for $10 each from the same seller.
I just ordered the seamless bustier from victoria secret online. I think they have other corsets as well. I saw a ton at Nordstroms and Macys as well!

Hey girls I know this is personal- but where is the best place to buy under-dress items? There was a post on here a while ago suggesting a corset from fredericks of hollywood; has anyone bought one there? any other suggestions for corset/ long line strapless bra retailers? i am looking for a crinoline too and am having a hard time finding them online. there is one at david's bridal for $50... is that a good deal?
