Try insolia.com especially if the front/ball of your foot bothers you. Def try walking in them and see where it hurts. Go to a drugstore and look at the foot care type section. There's a ton of stuff - really depends on the individual.
I had a bone removed in my left foot, so I use inserts on all my dress shoes.
In a shoe like yours, I do prefer the full length foot petals. (You can get them in just the ball or just the heel or in the full length) Just be sure to put the heel of the foot petal centered under your heel.
Dr Scholl's has some good inserts as well.
Ultimately though, it will come to what feels the best for you.
I used Petals on my wedding day and loved them! I have had 2 knee surgeries and needed some extra cushioning in my shoes. Kept my shoes on all day (approx. 11 hours) and didn't get uncomfortable until about the 10th hour.
Forgot to mention I used the full length foot petals and the strips that attach to the back heel.
I used insolia's in my shoes for the big day and they were the best investments ever! Well that and the sandpaper I attached to the bottom of my shoe so I wouldn't slip and flash the world! But I second Insolia's!
Foot Petals will make you comfortable. It cushions your ball of foot. Here's a pic of the Foot Petals megs was describing: http://www.laurensilva.com/Foot_Petals_Buttercup_Killer_Kushionz_Foot_Pads_p/foot-bkkf1003.htm

I want to purchase inserts to help make my d'orsay style heels more comfortable on my wedding day. I'd like something under the ball of my foot for sure, and maybe something at the back of my heel too. I've heard foot petals spoken of many times here...are those the best? Is anything else you've tried good? What type of insert would you suggest? I want your opinions before I make a purchase.
