I went to a wedding this weekend, and I burst into tears when the father of the groom said this:

I remember getting ready to walk Christen (bride's sister) down the aisle last year, and I just lost it and started crying. She said to me, "Daddy, it'll be fine! I'll still be here, we still live near each other, it wil be ok, dad!" And I wiped my tears away and agreed with her that everything would be fine. But what I didn't tell her that day was that I wasn't crying because I was losing one of my daughters, I was crying because I had just seen Mollie (his wife) walk up the aisle, and seeing her and hoping that my girls (he has 4 daughters) would one day be able to experience the love that I have still today for my Mollie was all I could really hope for for my girls.

Oh my gosh I'm crying just writing it out. He was pausing, choking up the entire time telling the story.

Any great speech tidbits you've heard lately at weddings? I love a great wedding toast! Please share!

    This is totally random, but...

A few years ago I watched the Jessica Simpson wedding special or whatever it was on MTV.  Her sister Ashlee (who was her MOH I suppose) gave the cutest speech and at the end she said, "Jessica and I used to take baths together, and now Nick gets to take baths with her!"

It just really cracked me up.

That is the sweetest sentiment. And totally, totally true. How sweet and thoughtful of her dad to recognize his own wife on their daughters special day!

    That is so, so sweet.

At my friend's wedding a few weeks ago, her father during his toast said to his wife (MOB):

"And to Nancy, the love of my life....may you live a thousand years.  And may I live a thousand years less one day...because I would never want to be on this earth one day without you."

Everyone was in tears!  And I'm in tears just writing this!!!
