We're getting married at this charming little gazebo and grounds outside of City Hall, which is right by the main road through the town. It won't as loud as it would be in traffic during a weekday, but we still need some speakers that will play our music loud and clear. We're using an iPod and have a playlist, and we do have access to electrical outlets, so wireless would be nice but not necessary. Can you recommend some great speakers?

Bose speakers are supposed to be really great, and work with the ipod. They have a few different varieties. They're not cheap, but they're worth the money and you can use them after the wedding as well.

I also like the outdoor speakers from Brookstone. These are like the ones you'll see in shopping center parking lots. I think they carry sound pretty well, but if you're having a large wedding you might need something bigger.

Bose does make good speakers, but I would suggest going with ones labeled "outdoor" both the carry the sound in an open environment as well as to handle the outside weather.

Have you thought about just renting them from a local AV company?  It would probably be cheaper and you won't have to worry about setup.  Plus they'll know more about what size system is appropriate, given your location and number of guests.

We're only expecting fifty people, but we'd like to use them for both the indoor reception and the outdoor ceremony. Thanks for the recommendations!

Don't know if you've purchased yet, but we are getting this from Costco.com It runs on battery power for up to 6 hours and has a mic:
