My husband and I want to take a weekend roadtrip (about 3 hours away) to Austin, Tx and want to make sure we cover all our bases. We are looking for chill things, we aren’t big partiers or drinkers although I know some spots are quite wild there. Any good suggestions?

LOVE Austin! We were there just before and just after new years (spent NYE in New Orleans.) I’m not a drinker/partier either, however my husband loves his craft beer and there were a couple places in/around Rainey Street with some pretty cool places! He was particularly enamoured with Craft Pride and Bangers, however there are a bunch of cute/trendy restaurants and bars to choose from. Also if you like Indian food, I would definitely recommened G’raj Mahal. It’s not fancy, but we went 2 or 3 times, and I loved the Chai tea.
We walked up and down South Congress (cute stores and lots of eateries) and we stayed just across the bridge from downtown, also on Congress, so walked over the bridge a couple times too and wandered the streets. There is a great street with lots of bars/music venues that you would see if you walked downtown, but I can’t remember the name of it. We didn’t go into any of those places though, just walked by but it was interesting to see.
I’m sure we missed A LOT, but we only had 3 days so most of it was spent finding craft beer and eating 😉
