What’s the typical cost of a plane ticket from DC to Maldives or Tahiti or Bora bora? When is the cheapest time to go? A relative of mine has offered to pay for my hotel, but I’m wondering if it would be cheaper if I just declined her offer and bought an all inclusive package that includes food, flight and hotel. What do you think?

Hi Annacruz, I went on holiday last year to the Maldives based on ALL-INCL, which I definitely recommend since everything is sooooo expensive on the islands!
We had this over-water-bungalow, which was sooooo awsome…
He proposed to me on the Maldives on Valentines Day too, so that holiday is unforgettable!!!! If you need more info just send me a message. I’m not sure about prices from US though…

I’ve been to the Maldives in December and it was gorgeous. June and July are supposed to be the rainy season, but I know many people who’ve been there at that time of year and said that if it did rain, it would only be a short downpour, then the sun would come out again. Because it’s quite expensive to book a flight, you’re probably better off to try and get a package. We stayed all-inclusive at Kuredu Resort in a O Beach Villa. Absolutely loved it. Unfortunatly we didn’t book from the States, so I can’t help you with a price.

I just planned a honeymoon to the Conrad in the Maldives. Airfare from here in Columbus was $4300 per person! We find similar fares to Fiji and Tahiti. It’s just very expensive to get to.
I would really recommend that you still book it as one package, but let your relative know how much the hotel is. With a trip that size, you’ll want to make sure that you have all of your flights and transfers connected seamlessly. And don’t forget the insurance! Last year we had a couple going to Likuliku in Fiji. ( it’s amazing!) The airline that they were booked on went under, and they could have easily lost what they paid for their air.
