Hotel Collection @ Macy's - definitely!!!!
The key with keeping big towels nice and fluffy is to use liquid fabric softener and NOT dryer sheets.
P.S. The time it takes to wash/dry totally depends on the individual's washing machine and dryer. The person who told you big towels take too long to dry probably has old machines. Newer washers will spin out more water than older models and therefore less time in the dryer is needed.
I went with the expensive ones from BB&B... they were really fluffy, but I don't mind drying them longer. I really want them to last!
@LaborOfLove: Do you remember the brand of the towels you registered for at BBB?
I have heard the hotel collection at Macys is nice as well but we ended up registering for the Lacoste Towels there
Actually, never use fabric softener with towels at all, it stops them from absorbing water, so you end up with these gorgeous soft fluffy towels that don't dry you at all. I liked the Addison towels from Lauren Ralph Lauren at Macy's, but that's just me.
Oh my god, I'm in LOVE with the towels we registered for. They were expensive, and we didn't end up getting them for the wedding, but we loved them so much, we splurged and purchased them after our wedding with the completion offer from BBB:

I think those are them. If you go to the store, look for the bamboo towels with a ribbed pattern and just feel them. They feel like silk, but they're crazy absorbant, and we've never had any problems drying them or anything. They're just incredibly soft.
These are seriously one of the best registry purchases ever. I'm kind of obsessed with my towels :)
Chapstick - I also registered for Santen's bamboo towels. We live in FL and with the humidity, it takes forever for cotton towels to dry, so with one use they end up smelling musty. We got the bamboo towels, and can use them several times and no smell!

Those are mine! FI did the touch test and got to pick, and I agreed--they were the softest in store :D
I have some Ralph Lauren towels already (I looooove towels) and honestly? After about 40 washes, they look BAD. They're white, so I've tried bleaching, but they pill like crazy. No thank you, not making that mistake again. Sorry ladies :)
I have Ralph Lauren towels that pill really badly. My mom got them for me at Macy's. (I have a thing about jumbo towels so whenever she sees them she buys me a couple.) They're dark blue and I always end up covered in lint balls whenever I dry with one.
I knew you guys would be able to help me! Keep the advice coming!!
We have the Platinum Select by Bloomingdales and we love'em - - I wish they made a robe out of them, lol
I went in yesterday to consult with the Macy's registry attendants. I ended up registering for Hotel Collection 'micro-cotton'. Anybody else heard/used these?
J and I second the ones LaborofLove suggested - we have a few sets and registered for more. I love them, and have never had trouble with drying them (well, they do take a little while longer, but only if I wash them in a big load). They're so worth it though - I could live my life wrapped up in one of those warm fuzzy towels!
ps - ours are a mixed set of sage, nickle and blue dusk colors and they look great together, haha.
@Soon2beeMrs. V: We registered for the Hotel Collection micro-cotton too! They had RAVE reviews online! :)
I actually switched because of this thread! I also have to wash my towels constantly because of humidity, so we went to get the bamboo towels on the registry instead! Hahaha that's kind of funny!
If we lived somewhere non-humid, I would go back to my original choice! :)

So... hopefully I'm not alone, but I am a registry stalker. I initially registered for the Suite Platinum 'Zero-Twist' towels from Bed Bath & Beyond, but I went back not too long ago (to add/change more stuff from my registry for the 70th time, of course) and felt them and was not too happy. They seemed kind of stiff! So, are there any towel recommendations?
I am also registered at Macy's, and I have heard good things about the Hotel Collection brand.
When we first got engaged, someone warned me NOT to register for big, fluffy towels because they take 3 times as long to dry and end up being a pain. I need something that is soft, won't be an inconvenience to wash, and will last! Thoughts?
