My workout ipod tunes usually consist of Outkast, Kenny Chesney (i.e. Big Star, How Forever Feels, the upbeat stuff), Neyo, and old school Britney. =)
Try some techno remixes. That's what I love to run to, because it's actually a beat you can run to the time of and keep moving at a fairly quick pace. It also helps that most of them tend to be longer songs. I had 2 that were an hour each.
my favorites are:
Bad Romance and Paparazzi by Lady Gaga
Born to Run by Bruce Springstein
Fast Cars and Freedom by Rascal Flatts
Hey Jealousy by the Gin Blossoms
Glamorous by Fergie
Rhythm of the Night by Corona
See You Again by Miley Cyrus
Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer
A Public Affair by Jessica Simpson
I usually listen to Born to Run and Waiting on the World to Change 3 or 4 times in a row before I move on to the next song :)
Anything BRITNEY!! Rage against the Machine, Lady Gaga, Paramore, Michael Jackson
Don't stop me now - Queen
I put it on when I feel like I can't run anymore and it gets me so hyped up I start fist pumping on the treadmill!
I always need some Lady Gaga, Black eyed peas, anything Britney, Gwen Stefani, American Girl by Tom Petty (love that one), i have a few rihannas, and whenever I get into that runner's high stage I like the slightly less intense ones like Such Great Heights by the Postal Service.... at least that's what I listened to while running today lol
I hate to admit it but yes, Lady Gaga.
Also, I can run to the entire Angels and Airwaves albums, because their music makes me feel like I can conquer the world! hahaha
This will sound weird, but the other day I really got going to some Tool. I imagine Rage against the Machine would do the same. Beastie Boys was fun too. :)
I love the podcast "podrunner" it has the perfect (calculated) beats to keep you going and increases in intensity. Download on itunes.
oh, i was gonna start a thread like this but i'm so glad you beat me to the punch! i just started running so i won't be jogging with an ipod just yet but i wanted to start collecting some good upbeat songs to listen to when i do start running longer times. thanks for the suggestions!
Random song that always plays on my shuffle while im running is Britney Spears - 3. I don't think it's a good song really at all, but for running it works!
I love 4 Minutes - Madonna. I use it for "sprinting" because I know exactly how long I'll be going for :-)
Thanks all :) I can't wait to add some of your suggestions to my iPod :)
Here are a few of my favs to get me going...
Massive Attack - trancelike beats...good for getting into a running rhythm
Jay-Z - gets me pumped up!
The Beatles!

I've been running at the gym 3x a week (yay!) for the past two months and I've been listening to the same music...but I think I need some variety!
Anyone have any suggestions for great running music? What tunes get you movin'?
