I am trying to find the right undergarment to wear with my mermaid dress, the fabric of which shows ANY pantylines. Never having worn Spanx or the like before, I don’t want to go through a bunch of trial and error until I find the right one.
I’m thinking maybe this type of Spanx, in case even the kind that ends mid-thigh will be visible (when walking, etc.): http://www.spanx.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4058274′ defer=’defer
Here’s a link to the dress: http://www.nicolemiller.com/amanda_bridal_gown/pd/p/3352.html
Any thoughts or advice from people who have had a similar issue?

I wore a ballgown but I love me some Spanx. The ones you posted are the ones that immediately popped into my head when I saw your dress.
Also, not sure if you have Target near you, but the maker of Spanx has a line called Assets that is cheaper and sold only at Target. Maybe look there if you don’t want to spend the money on Spanx.

I didn’t know about the line at Target – thanks!

TJ Maxx and Marshalls also sell Spanx and Assets and some other ones. Be carefull with the ones that go mid thigh, sometimes you see the indent slightly on the thigh

@dressme3: Yes, that’s what I’m a little worried about re: the mid thigh ones. Spanx.com has 10% off and free shipping today so I think I’m going to order the footless ones from the website. I think the high-waisted ones might be visible above the back of the dress, so I’m going to try the ones that hit at the natural waist and cross my fingers!

Ummmm… I’ve certainly had this issue with other dresses before. And frankly, sometimes commando is the best option.

Saving this for later. I like the first ones. I wonder if my Von Maur sells them because the spanx I buoght (incognito) are kind of on the thick side. I didn’t know the hose like ones were gusseted. I may have to return mine and purchase the first link.
