Best way to seal envelopes?

So we spent much of last night stuffing wedding invations. When we finished at 12:30, I wasn't up to sealing them. That is tonight's project.

Any smart tips on the best way to seal envelopes without licking them or getting them wet or damaged?

We used an angle-tip moistener that we got at Office Depot for $0.99! You fill it with water and the sponge moistens the envelop glue. You have to be a little careful to not get too much water, but for $1, you can't beat it!

I used a damp wash cloth, and ONLY ran it over the envelope glue.

I used the little triangle foam foundation sponges that I use with my make up! We just dabbed in a bowl of water and spread. I got frustrated with the tube with water in it, it kept squirting too much. My FI and I found this so easy and mess free!
