I like the workouts on www.self.com, you can actually download videos and I know one of my friends is a huge fan of www.shape.com.
oh- my friend recommended a website to me that you can download audio fitness workouts into your ipod... www.itrain.com (shh. don't tell her I haven't tried it yet).
I like Self Magazine too --- but I'd be interested in anyone else's ideas. Trainers just aren't in the budget and I spend all my time online anyway, might as well add somethign else to my "research" list - working out.
You may want to check out coolrunning.com. I'm a beginner runner so they offer a training plan on my level but they may have some other workout plans there also.
Hi! just go to www.youtube.com and look for different workouts ... that is what i have been doing and i get really good, new techniques that i have added to my workouts, i have seen really great results. hope it helps! ![]()
Thanks for the great suggestions. I would have never thought of youtube!
I printed a marathon training plan off of the coolrunnings site and am now on week four. I love having the schedule to check off and the variety keeps things interesting. Great suggestions! (now if I can only drag myself all the way to the gym to lift weights more often)
Check out a local craig's list. There are always advertisments for hourly personal trainers that will come to you. It's a more cost effective way to get an effective workout than joining a gym.
go to www.bodybuilding.com there's some AWESOME workouts there. I LOVE that site!
www.runnersworld.com has all kinds of work outs. cross training, weight lifting, beginners, and advance circuit training logs. I really like it!
www.fitnessmagazine.com and www.womenshealthmag.com I always get awesome weight lifting / circuit training workouts from both. Women's health magazine has this AWESOME*** plyometrics workout for your legs and bootay online right now (in the April 09 issue if you are subscribed) which i did yesterday...still having problems walking!! extremely sore! lol. fitness magazine also has good running routines to help you train for a 5k, half marathon, etc, EVEN for beginners! Enjoy!!!

I've been lifting weights and running for years, but I've never had a real "routine" laid out by a trainer. Now that our wedding is less than 6mos away I really want to take off these 10lbs I gained last year and get some good definition. We're paying so much for wedding photos that I want to look my best!
Can you recommend your favorite websites for personal-training type info? As long as I have a plan I can stick to it, but my gym doesn't offer training sessions and I feel like what I'm doing just isn't working.
thanks!!
