So this October I get to be the Best Woman for my BFF who was recently my Dude of Honor. I’m helping out his fiance with the wedding and we just decided what I should wear, but now we’re not sure what I should carry. I could carry a bouquet or wear a corsage and not have one. Or I could carry something completely different, like a clutch.
Perhaps I should carry something that represents the groom a bit more though. The groom and I are both engineers, perhaps that would lead us to something. I just don’t know.

A fall bouquet would be neat!
I’m not coming up with anything exciting…what type of engineers are you?

I’d go with the corsage or else (if you’re clever) an “engineering bouquet” like a bunch of decorated rulers or cleverly folded blueprints or gears (like a button bouquet?) (I admit I have no idea what represents engineering). A flower bouquet seems rather girly to carry on the groom’s side.

I like the boutineer idea personally.

FYI, I’m an environmental engineer and he’s electrical, though he’s getting his PhD in computer science.
Also, I don’t know if this has any effect on your response, but I’m the only person on the groom’s side.

I wouldn’t do a full on bouquet, but maybe you could hold a single stem? I also like the corsage idea.

My FI and I are having a mixed gender party. We each have one person from the opposite sex on our side. The groomsWOman is holding a bouquet just like my attendents are – the bridesMAN is having a bout. Just a thought!

My FI is having a Best Lady as we’re calling it. 🙂 She is wearing a dress that’s a similar style to the BM’s but the color of the groomsmen (grey). I made her a corsage to wear that is the same color as the BM’s dresses and my shoes (navy) as well as the groomsmen bout’s. She’s still a lady which is why I went with the corsage. I’m sure she’ll just clasp her hands in front.
