So in all reality... i dont have money to buy a fancy dress. I hate davids bridal dresses (no offence) there are some pretty ones just not my taste. I love Maggie Sottero dresses. Ive looked online and i found the 2 websites. I know they are replicas and im fine with that. The material looks good really good actually compared to other replica stores like storeofdress.com. Im very impressed however i see no reviews on them. Anyone use them? Any thoughts?

soon2b>> what exactly are you comparing when you say that the "material looks good"? I've seen both sites - but it seems like they just use pictures from the designer - not real dresses. I didn't find any of their "real photos" on their sites. Am I just blind? Maybe post a link to the dresses that you're looking at?

I was also interested in looking at STore of Dress and started a thread on it: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/custom-made-dresses-did-you-buy-from-store-of-dress-little-coral-or-milly

Doesn't seem that anyone has used store of dress, and I haven't seen anyone buy from the sites you mentioned either. :-P

hopefully it works out if you do!

The replica's look ok in the pics but I would go with the satin over the lace because up close cheap lace is noticeable and they will be using cheaper fabrics!

Good Luck - let us know how it goes!

I would not recommend Topbridaldress to anyone.  We ordered a wedding dress supplying full and detailed measurements (and photographs for later problems).  It came back totally wrong sized. It was agreed to return it, so we did.  The second dress came and was only mariginally better.  It too has had to be returned but has sat in clearance (Shanghai) for at least two weeks now.

Communicating with Topbridaldress has been a nightmare - they have been courteous but do not seem to easily understand English (they are Chinese).  We have only had email contact.  There is no real address on their website just a false Zip Code and a California reference.  The telephone number provided rings in Wisconsin but is never answered (except by an answering service.  The Skype number is the same.

The latest email from them has suggested that to fix the problems, they credit us with $25 and send a couple of metres of material to sort it ourselves!  Considering every problem has been theirs and we have had to pay high charges for returns already, someone somewhere has to joking.  Perhaps a general piece of good internet buying advice would be to try and make contact by phone first or ensure the number is valid and there is a valid postal address.

We are now in a panic situation trying to find an Eternity 8606 dress (tall version) for her wedding in early January and pay all over again.

It's not just with Chinese shops. I ordered a custom dress from Gioavonni's Bridal which is out of Tenessee and it turned out horribly. I CRIED when I pulled it out of the shipping package. I luckily found another dress for less money and was much more flattering. I couldn't find anyone to buy the custom gown and I am going to donate the wretched thing to Goodwill. I personally do not recommend buying something as important as a wedding dress from someplace that makes knock-offs.

@Soon2bMrsWheeler - I was in the same boat as you. I fell in love with 2 Alvina Valenta designs, but $4,500 for a dress isn't in the budget. Check out preownedweddingdresses.com and other sites like it.

I also set up a Google alert so that every time the words "Alvina Valenta" and "9801" or "9860" shows up on the internet, I get an email. I'll prob get one from this post -haha!

I considered ordering a replica, but keep finding really good deals on the classifieds here, preownedweddingdresses.com, and oncewed.com

Hey! Did you end up getting the dress? I'm thinking about doing the same thing. They have the dress of my dreams but there's no way I want to spend 1k on my dress when I can get the replica for more than half that price!! Let me know what you decided to do!!!

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM BESTDRESSPRICE.COM!  My fiancée was excited to order her wedding dress through BestDressPrice.com, so we first ordered some color-swatches for color selection.  Their advertised shipping time is 5-8 business days, after 8 business days they stated that they would be sent out the within the next two days.  Ten days later I received an email providing me with an EMS tracking number and stating that they had just been shipped.  The tacking number they had given me was bogus!  After another nine business days, I received another email telling me that they had just been shipped.  So here after more than 25 business days we still have not received something as simple as color-swatches, and are still getting the run-around from BestDressPrice, and they are unwilling to offer any kind of refund.  Ordering anything from them is a HUGE gamble, so DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR HARD EARNED MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!

I wouldn't order anything from any of those wedding dress replica sites.. i did it and i'm $500 out of pocket, pursuing legal proceedings, have a cheaply made, chinese pile of crap in my study and have had to buy another dress.

If you're on a budget, look for second hand ones on preloved websites and ebay. A much much safer way to go.

I'm getting a Sottero and Midgley dress by Maggie Sottero and was told by the owner of the bridal store to be careful with those sites.  Evidently there are no copyright laws in China so they can make dresses that look just like the authentic ones, but are made with lower quality fabrics etc. Basically, you get what you pay for. Idk if this is helpful at all. Just passing along the information I got.

Maybe if you go to a bridal salon they'd let you buy the stock dress or something??

    (I also hate David's Bridal).

I ordered a dress from bestdressprice.com... I've seen a half a dozen sites that are all the same layout and they're most likely the same company with a different name so this post relates to them as well.  (Tiffany Bridals, Tony's Bridal, Peri dress..) They all use the designer's pictures to advertise their dresses.  They all also say "CALL US" with an American number which is very misleading.  I didn't realize it was from China until my payment went through (though I had my suspicions).

I ordered the Maggie Sattero Gatsby dress.  I would have loved to order the designer's dress but it's way out of my price range.  After not being able to find a used one in my size I went with this site.  The online help person "Lisa" was helpful.  She sent me photos of the dresses that they do, sent me colour samples and answered all of my questions before I ordered.  I asked for rush delivery (20 days) and it came in 19 days so that was good.  However, when it arrived it is WAY too big.  My seamstress said that she has to start by taking in 2 inches off from each side just to get started on fitting me.  I am worried that this will change the look of the dress but it's a gamble I took when ordering from these guys.  I am surprised that it's so off though, they had my exact measurements (even two inches smaller in the waist).  So I emailed "Lisa" to ask if there was a mistake, but (big surprise) no response yet.

The dress is nice though, there were many loose threads and of course the quality isn't the same as a designer dress, but I paid 70% less than what that would cost.

So if you're not too fussed about what kind of quality you're going to get, you have a good designer and you're ok with the dresses being a knock off made in China, go for it.  If not, I'd stick to kijiji.com and smartbrideboutique.com.  At least you can go and try it on first.  Another piece of advice, start shopping early.  I wish I would have looked even before I was engaged. Make sure to ask them a lot of questions before ordering, like "what happens if the dress is too big, if the colour is wrong... etc."

    Good luck!

    Dont do it !
I ordered a Birnbaum and Bullock "marlene" replica. Of course i knew it was a replica . Normally the original is over $3000 after a quick check. But even as a replica, the picture they use on the website shows a product that i wanted to purchase- forgive me for getting the wrong idea, but if i see an item advertised for sale, then i expect at the very least the item should look like it.. WRONG.
Not even close, beading all over the place, falling off the dress, stitching pulled, bust not sitting evenly .. basically a mess - Not to mention the same, now after reading abit about them "typical" late on delivery time, and sending in a plastic bag instead of the hard box packaging i specialy paid for- The dress had black spots, looked like oil on the train, material nothing like in the picture.. Basically the WRONG DRESS on POOR QUALITY-
After receipt, straight on the email to Sara.
She replies with "yeah, but it isnt original" -- I know, but does that mean you can send any old crap?
Now considering the dress is´nt what i ordered, i want to return.. WRONG - take 50% in return charges.. or they will give me $30 to repair the problems.. Excuse me but where on gods earth can i have this bag of Sh** altered for $30.. oh yeah, probably the same hole that makes these crappy dresses--- BUNCH OF THEIVING LITTLE MONKEYS- lucky i dont live anywhere close or they would be hanging by their cheap satin from the rafters.
Also, dont be mugged off by the "broken english" positive comments, i could post the transcripts of their mails here, and its exactly their turn of phrase word for word
Good luck all you who have ordered, but face it .. its not going to be what you ordered
For the others YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

So after visiting my seamstress 4 times, the dress is done.  I think the total cost of alterations is going to be $200.  Best dress price is going to give me a credit because they messed up the sides so that's good.  Luckily I have a great seamstress and she's not far away.  I guess that was the risk took ordering online.    bestdressprice.com and topbridaldresses.com reviews anyone?? : wedding bestdresspricecom topbridaldressescom dress maggie sottero replica replicas P1040820

DO NOT USE www.TOPBRIDALDRESSES.com! What a horrible experience.  They sent me my wedding dress that looked nothing like what it was supposed to look, and refused to give me the full refund, even though they agreed in an email that the dress was not made the way it was supposed to be made--it was embroidered in black!  They said sorry--the person who made your dress will be held responsible. On top of that, I had to pay out of pocket to send it back, which cost me over $50 (Fedex or UPS were over $150!) They did offer to re-make the dress, but after seeing the first version, I wasn't about to commit to waiting for a re-make.  Let this be my lesson which cost me over $150.

Buy a dress from the store or this site: www.bestbridalprices.com  I've used them before (their store is located in IL) for bridesmaids dresses and just re-ordered my dress.  They are more expensive than chinese rip-offs, but less expensive than most stores. You will save at the end, trust me.

I just wanted to let you know I received my wedding dress last week and it is beautiful. I love it. It is very well made and looks very like the original. Thank you so much for this great service. I cant believe the quality of the dress for the very reasonable price. The delivery of the dress was well within the the 20 days that I asked for.

Here's a coupon code they gave me,because my wedding has passed,so i can give it to anyone want to order on that website: 45759900, for 10% off discount!

I guess if you want to order online, cusotmer service and return policy is very important. How do you know it before you really have any problems with them? I think you can search online review of the company, but reviews sometimes don't tell the full story, so it is also important  to really contact them yourself, and see whether they reply to you fast and friendly, ask them about their policy, if something is bad, how to return, bla bla bla~~~ you can even give them a call and feel whether they are honest or not. that is what I did for my dress. ordered online, very happy with it :)

i got my dress from TopBridalDress.com, it's amazing , i love the color. and the customer service is super helpful..

I know how some people are.  They are never able to be pleased  , so reviews online sometime don't tell the truth, just have a try then you will know
