Better Blonde or....not Blonde

Please give some feedback, better blonde or not?

I feel the most pretty with my hair blonde, I wanted to take a bleach break so I asked my stylist to match my natural color(dark blonde) and give me a few low lights....almost $400 later I have Auburn hair, after specifically asking not to have a warm color.

I get that it doesn't look horrible, but I was going for a look that I didn't have to touch unitl closer to the wedding versus bleaching every 4-5 weeks.

    Suggestions of colors welcomed!

I think as a brunette, it emphasizes your eyes more (I'm biased too!)

Oddly enough, I think the blonde looks more 'you'.

I would go blond for wedding.

I think you look beautiful with either hair color, so I would just say to go with the one that makes you feel prettiest (which you said was blonde).

I think darker looks better... maybe just dark blonde or light brown if your not feeling the reddish brown?

I like the blonde, but the platinum that you're rocking in the pic is a bit too light. Maybe a more golden blonde?

I think you look great with the auburn.  It looks more natural and not as dry.  If you like the blonde I say go for it though.  You want to feel beautiful on your big day and not freaking out you should have went blonde :)

I like the darker color.  It looks more sophisticated.

I'm sure you've heard this, but you look like Christina Aguilara - the early years (when she was still really cute!).

Aw!  You and FI are gorgeous.

You should go with whatever makes you feel prettiest, so blonde.  You look great with it too (but the auburn's nice as well!), and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to that salon and explain that you aren't happy with the color you got and would like to discuss options for changing.  These services aren't cheap at all, and to pay almost $400 for something you dont love just isn't right.  I'm sure the salon wants you to be happy as well.

@KristenGotMarried:Thanks girl! I feel so lucky to have a man who I find so studly, who has a huge heart ;) I'm hesitant to return to the salon because I made my best attempt to explain what I was 'going for' in the first place. But thanks for the advice I appreciate it!

I like the Auburn on you.  Your eyes really *pop*.  Like a PP suggested, what about next time going for a darker blonde, something in between?

I'm totally subscribing to this thread. I bleached my naturally dark blonde hair  super blonde for forever (and that's really how I feel most comfortable with myself) but recently decided to change things up a bit and also ended up auburn. After the inital shock and an adjustment peroid, I grew to really like it...not like I like being blonde but I felt more demure looking. However, it fades so freaking fast that I will have to touch it up more often than I had to bleach my hair. Now I can't decide what I want...to go back to really light hair or try to find something warm that will last. I also think about the fact that my wedding will be outside in October so I wonder that a head full of bleach blonde hair might clash a little.

By the way, and much more importantly, you look totally gorgeous both ways!

Most people would not look equally good in two very different hair colors. You do. That is a result of your natural beauty as well as the skill and expertise of your colorist.  There are so many shades of hair color even within the colors you've selected, and getting it right is not always easy. He or she did.  You look beautiful either way.

You're one of those women who can enjoy "switching it up" by choosing to go with one tone during one part of the year and another tone during another time of year, consistent with the seasons (i.e. many women prefer going lighter in the spring and summer, and darker in the fall and winter. I can't help but notice you are having a summer wedding.) Still, ONE of those colors is going to feel a little more natural to you, more like YOU.

The most important question that you need to answer is not, "What would provide for easier upkeep before the wedding,?" but, rather, the MOST important questions are these:  "What is my vision for my wedding?  How do I picture myself standing there at my wedding?" And, perhaps MOST important of all, "What do I want to see in my wedding pictures for FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE?"

Once you answer that last question, you will be at peace with your decision. :)

I like the warmer dark color on you based on these pictures but if you feel more "you" as a blonde, I would go for a more golden blonde on your wedding and less platinum. You can rock either look!

I think blonde! I am not naturally blonde but a med.mousy brown and HATE it! I have been blonde since 2003:) I occasionally take a break just to go back to blonde an destroy my hair! I hate warmth in my hair too but it's all about the color and toner they use. $400!! thats nuts! I pay $65 for highlights and $40 for a solid color! If i want a 2nd color weaved in its $15. The most for highlights I paid was $100 but she was THE best ever!  My stylist says getting to blonde is the hardest but once I am there(again) the ends will be light and we will just have to touch up my roots every 2 months and then midshaft up every cpl months too, which then means no bleach on my ends!! Then a gloss or toner when I need to freshen it up. Way easy!  My hair has been growing pretty well too:)

I feel like "me" with blonde hair too! I do like going to all over choc.brown but then within a week or 2 itching for blonde. Like a beige blonde.

Do what makes you happy. I know I will be blonde for my wedding, 100% sure!

If you dont want any warmth in your hair, dont ask for any golden tones. Caramel even is warm. Id ask for a neutral color, like maybe your regular color and maybe a champagne blonde or dark blonde. I had it is in my hair with my normal beige blonde and it looked awesome! It was a bit darker than the beige color. My hair has been thru hell and I seriously know alot about color now! I asked for a choc.brown and brought in a pic of me and it turned out Strawberry shortcake red! I was mortified!!

I like the brunette, but it doesn't matter, because you look good both ways. If you prefer being a blond, you'll probably want your wedding pictures with blond hair.
