@Bride16: Welcome to Weddingbee!

This is a hard question to answer without seeing the dresses on YOU, but here are my thoughts.

While the dress is a big part of your wedding day look, it’s YOU that makes the dress beautiful. That said, if it were me, I’d choose the dress I feel “amazing” in. Every bride deserves to feel “amazing” in her wedding dress.

I don’t want to put fear in your mind, but is it possible you might need to keep looking at dresses? From your post it seems that you feel you’ll be settling on either dress, and I don’t want you to feel like you’ve settled on your wedding dress!

Between the two I’d say #1 feels very bridal and if it makes you feel amazing then go for it. #2 has a little too much going on for me personally.

Gemstone does have a point about settling. You have a lot of time don’t rush until you feel really good about the decision. Why not go to more shops?

I would keep looking at other dresses.  You don’t sounds THRILLED about either one of these.

@Bride16: You’re right, a corset has a great effect. But there are other ways of making yourself a little extra skinny (Spanx!) if the Simone Carvalli is the one you really want!

Ok I LOVE the Maggie dress and I think it looks very bridal.

I was in the same spot as you, one dress made me look amazing and ones felt more like my dream bride picture. I went with the one that made me look amazing because I figure I will make the dress not the other way around!

You’ve probably already done this, but what about doing back to some other shops and showing them a picture of the Simone Carvalli dress and saying “What do you have that looks like this, but with a corset back?”

Maybe you can have the best of both worlds!

@Goldilocks1107: I agree.  There are so many dresses out there, it sounds like you’d be settling with either one of these.

Take what you like about each and search for the ‘one’.

Also, a good seamstress should be able to fit you nicely in a dress that doesn’t have a corseted back to make you look tiny, you’d probably just have to wear some shaping undergarmets or have something built in under the dress to shape you.  They can build in a bustier with a corset or you could get one and then be fitted.
