Okay, so we sent our STD’s out this week – to something like 57 adults, and 11 under 18’s (legal drinking age!)
We’re in the process of deciding whether it would be better for us financially, and also for our guests whether we paid for drinks by consumption (we would obviously put an amount over the bar), or via a beverage package (a 5hr beer, wine, softdrink and juice runs at $42p/adult – but, there will be canapes and pre-dinner drinks for either half an hour, or an hour – so may use an hour from that, and shorten the reception drinks to 4 hours).
How can you predict how much people will drink? It is mostly families attending, with maybe 20 “young” people (ie our friends!) – so I know they will take advantage of any beer/wine available LOL.
We’d love a full bar, but can’t afford to pay by consumption (a smirnoff double black would be around $13 for a 330ml) – the venue doesn’t include spirits in any of their packages, either.
There is no option to BYO drinks.
Our reception is 5 hours long, so I guess to justify if every single person we’ve invited, turns up, had 1x soft drink an hour, that would be 340 glasses of soft drink @ minimum of $4 a glass = $1360.
But, we will also have a bottle of red, and white wine on each adult table, that comes automatically with our booking. 🙂
Ahhhh, what to do?
