Weddingbee boards

Just thought I would give everyone the heads up as this was news for me! You may have seen my post displaying my engagement ring which has tiny diamonds set into the band about 3/4th down each side. This is termed micropave or as one jeweler said, "an accented band". Unfortunately my FI purchased the ring in a size 6 and it turns out my ring finger is only a 4.5 (not his fault as I actually thought I was a size 6 whoops!)

The drama ensued this weekend when we decided to go get the ring resized, no biggie, right lol? We had several jewelers tell us that pave bands are notoriously hard to resize, particularly platinum bands. They run the risk of damaging or having the pave diamonds pop out as they attempt to reshape the band. Luckily, we were able to find a store that would do it. Initially they told us it would take only two days (which I was excited about) but my fiance received a call from them today saying that they would be sending the ring out which will take about 10 days. They want to use some type of laser instrument to make the cut - they're not charging us any additional fees and I realize that they're attempting to be super careful with the ring but I am still without my ring for a week or so, boo!

So lesson learned ladies, neither myself or the FI are diamond experts but if you want a pave band make sure you have had your finger correctly sized!
