I want to make you aware of a proable scammer–so beware. I listed a wedding gown for sale and received a note from JHamilton1960, showing interest in the gown and wishing to purchase it as a gift for his daughter. After emailing him I received this note:
Thanks so much for your kind and humble reply am Interested in buying this as soon as possible and I’ll be glad to add $100 to your final asking price for you to be sure am really Interested in purchasing this am buying this for my daughter as a gift and I’ll do anything to make her happy for buying her this so the total Payment I’ll be mailing out to you is $900 also just to let you know I’ll be leaving the state to Washington tomorrow so I wont have the chance to send you cash or make the Payment through PayPal the only way I can make the Payment is through Bank certified cashier check and for me to proceed I’ll need your name, address (No Po Box Please), City, State, Zip code along with your cell phone number to make the Payment as soon as Possible so you can receive the Payment in time after the Payment I’ll be glad if you can wrap the item with a gift wrap as you know this is a gift so once the Payment has been confirmed I’ll schedule for a pick up you don’t need to bother or worry yourself about shipping this I hope you can understand and I hope we can come to Agreement. Thanks for your Co-operation and may God Bless you. Jerry Hamilton
Obviously there are numerous red flags in this email–scams involving cashier check fraud are popular right now, and if it doesn’t make sense it’s not true. Please beware and be careful.
