That doesn't make sense ... they're not going to let you buy the pictures they've already taken? That seems like a really dumb business practice. Usually when someone offers you money, you don't say no ...
I'm sorry Arden, this sucks!
Arden, that does sound a bit strange that they won't sell you additional pictures. Or do you mean that they'll only sell them to you at a higher "non-package" rate? Even that sounds a bit strange because most photographers I know allow their clients to "upgrade" their packages but not downgrade. Sorry you're having a bad experience!
I guess the advice here for everyone is to make sure you understand the terms of the contract you are signing and what the studio policies are regarding add-on sales or upgrades/downgrades to the package you are buying.

My husband and I got married about two months ago. It was a destination wedding and after doing all my research the package options seemed to be the best deals.
The good definitely outweighed the bad in the package overall, but I do want to let all brides know that they should err on the side of caution because we had a major, major problem with the photography studio.
The package included a, well, package deal. You got 20 4x6 photos. Period. Of just the ceremony. Period. The photographer took some really lovely photos of just myself and also some really beautiful outdoor photos (NOT included in the package). When I inquired about upgrading our package (and paying the difference of course) I was flatly denied.
Why? The pictures were already taken and because it was a destination wedding it's not like we can just go back there and do it again. I did complain to the wedding coordinator, but unfortunately she gave the photography studio our names when referring to the complaint (which was unwise and unprofessional on her part) so who knows what kind of photos we'll get now. The studio was so unwilling to work with me on anything they may just retaliate and send us a batch of pictures with our eyes closed. I wouldn't be surprised from these people!
Anyhow, I just wanted to share my story and I hope this helps someone else who is shopping around.
