My Fiance is having my engagement ring made for me because is friend is a jeweller. From the outset I knew I wanted a white gold bezel setting and the inspiration images I originally found had quite detailed settings. I have recently seen a very simple bezel set ring though and think its simplicity makes it all the more beautiful … now I can’t decide which I prefer, FIs friend has the diamond and is ready to go, they’re waiting for the final OK from me. Which do you like better;

Steph77: Ring twins! (almost). I’m also have a bezel set ring made and the inspiration I have is almost identical to your detailed one. Both are very pretty but I prefer the detail… either way you have to post pictures when its made

Steph77: No help here, I love ’em both! I usually don’t like mixing a whole bunch of stuff together, but the milgrain is sooo delicate on the first picture that it enhances it. Some milgrain you see is really big and clunky and uneven.

There is something quite beautiful in the simplicity of an unadorned bezel set. It draws in the eye to focus on your stone while also highlighting the lovely round bezel setting. Lovely ring. 🙂

I think a combination of the two would work best. (Just my opinion)
I like the side diamonds, but don’t like the detail in the gold. They’re both very pretty though.

detailed, but i’m biased because mine is a detailed hexagon bezel, though it’s not a “true” bezel, bc it’s bead set inside the bezel. I adore the milgrain

I love the detailed ring!

That second one looks just like the one I got!
I absolutely love it’s simplicity, it really enhances the stone.

For an e-ring, I like the detailed one. The simple one is beautiful too, but it gives off a very “casual” vibe to me and having a bit more detail dresses it up nicely.

I’m on team detailed. I love the millgrain on that first picture. I agree that the second ring looks a little casual.

I’m typically a fan of more bling, but in this particular case, the bezel is such a unique detail in and of itself that the detailed version seems to overpower the stone/concept. I may be biased, because my RHR is an oval morganite in a rose gold bezel.

I LOVE the first one! My ring looks similar to the second setting and it’s very sleek and modern, while the first one has more of a vintage feel. You can’t go wrong either way, but I just love the vintage feel of the first setting! Gorgeous!

Steph77: I got the simple- and then got a band with a little bling. The channel set is my wedding band that we got married with. I just got the plain gold band yesterday because I’m pregnant and my wedding band doesn’t fit well…..but I don’t want to resize unless I have to after baby comes. I will probably wear the plain gold band on top of my ering when I start wearing my wedding band again. The old band was going to be an anniversary band, but I got it earlier because of baby.
