I was watching “The Switch” last night while my boyfriend was doing work (it’s a romantic comedy about a woman who’s male friend swicthes out the sperm that she uses to get artificially inseminated. It sounds weird but it’s cute.) Anyway, at the end of the movie a man proposes to the female lead (played by Jennifer Aniston) in front of his whole family.
After the end of the movie the bf says to me, “Don’t you think it’s weird that he proposed to her in front of his family? I mean, you wouldn’t want anything like that, right?” Hmmmm…..Maybe he is trying to plan the proposal. Or maybe I’m just overanalyzing again. LOL

The fact that he phrased it in a manner that asked your prefernce could be promising… or it could just a guy expressing his horror at the thought of possibly flubbing such an important moment in fromt of the future in-laws.

As a species we women over-analyse 😉 sounds like he’s definitely thought about different ways he might propose though!

@VintagePink: Yes and I am so, so guilty of over-analyzing. Really, I’m the worst. That’s why I love to come on here to get reality checks. It really does help.

@jackndiane:Cool. I’m new here and can definitely see it helping!

Seems pretty clear to me. He’s puttin’ out his feelers for a future proposal, especially since he asked your opinion. Sending you good vibrations!

It could go either way, but my fingers are crossed for you 🙂

I don’t know, I tend to feel like if they’re planning something they keep it super secret so they dont’ talk or avoid anything that has to do with the subject. And he should know that if he asked a question like that it got your mind thinking about the topic so it may just be innocent (I hope he has got plans!)
Good luck and let us know.

I think he’s definitely thinking about it, and perhaps putting feelers out there for what you like – but I also agree with tiny tuna. My SO does not bring up proposals at all. There have been so many on TV lately and he hasn’t related any of them back to us. I was getting worried he forgot or something! But I asked him if he was thinking about it or planning it and he said yes – but that’s about all he said! So I think he does avoid the subject to make sure its a secret. But who knows – your SO could be totally different. Either way good luck! Hope a proposal comes soon for you!
