I’m about 6.5 months PP, and mine hasn’t come back yet. I’ve heard that it depends on how many night feedings baby is having. My DD bedshares, so she feeds many times throughout the night.

I exclusively breastfed for two weeks, then went to a bottle maybe once a night for a few weeks after that (and we would nurse twice a night so one of those feedings would be a bottle sometimes). I stopped bleeding at 4 week PP and then I got my period at 6 weeks PP. It sucked.

Monny:  I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve heard twice or more at night is the magic number.

Ya, I’m pretty sure it depends on how much baby is still nursing. My youngest is 10 months and still wakes up once to nurse at night and I still haven’t gotten my period.

I started weaning my baby at 9 months and got my period at 10 months postpardum.  I BF till 15 months.  I did not exclusively BF because I had supply issues.

I breastfed until 14 months, and AF came back exactly a month later at 15 months postpardum.

Even with only bfing at night or a couple times a day, I didn’t get AF until I stopped completely.

I got my period at 11 months, still breastfeeding. At that point DD was going ~8 hours at night without feeding and was nursing 5 times a day. My first couple of cycles were very long and irregular.

I was 15 weeks PP and by the time he was 20 weeks I was 5 weeks pregnant again. While breastfeeding and taking B.C. After having DD2 in December I had the coil fitted in March, no period until after it was fitted. :-/ while breastfeeding my eldest I didn’t have a period until she was almost 1! And she slept through the night from 8 weeks old.

14.5 Months post partum for me and still nursing at nineteen months with irregular cycles.

Cory_loves_this_girl:  Monny:  Nursing in the early hours of the morning is most effective at surpressing fertility as it maintains prolactin levels. My cycles kicked in again because my LO had a couple of weeks where she was having longer stretches of sleep anot waking to nurse until 5 or so in the morning.
