My period was two weeks early last month so I stopped taking my birth control in order to wait out my cycle and start a new pack after my next period. My period has never been early, but I thought maybe I’m due for irregular cylces since I have been on oral contraceptives since I was a teenager. Anyway, we had sex several times during this time but I never thought a thing of it since the birth control stays in your system for quite a while especially when it is built up over long periods.
Well my period was five days late today. Eight negative tests up until today with no period, then this morning I got a very definite positive.
I was not expecting this. Darling Husband is SO happy and I don’t know how to feel yet. My boobs hurt and I have been starving, and oh yeah, I have gone to the bathroom about 36 times today…. What club do I join haha?

Yahoo!!!! I don’t know which club you should join, but I’m really happy for you! Congrats!

Well I’m really happy for you, so congrats!! Except I don’t really know what to say haha, because you said you don’t know how you feel about it yet (which is exactly how I would feel right now if I got pregnant). Either way…..I know everything will work itself out and I hope you are very very happy! You deserve it!

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: REALLY?! Congratulations!

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: Actually once you stop taking the pill, the hormone leaves your system pretty quickly. After that, your body then figures out its cycle, usually how and what it was pre-birth control.

I know it’s unexpected and you’ll need some time to get over the shock of “We’re having a baby”!!! Congratulations to you and your hubby. Did you tell your family? What’s their reaction?
Sometimes blessings come unexpected. My son and his wife are expecting a baby in May. They were trying for a while then his job was “iffy” and they stopped just in case. Well… she got pregnant right before that decision was made and here they are going to be parents, they couldn’t be happier. Me too!!

Thank you everyone, you guys are so sweet!
@Rouquine: really. I promise. At least that’s what the stick said haha
@Ms.Pink: the feeling is a mixture of excitment and being scared shitless! 😉
@brox: Oh, I didn’t know that. I thought since you have to wait the seven days when starting a new pack, it was to build more in your system. Learn something new every day
@Ill Be Mrs B: I told my mom and she is very very excited. I haven’t told my dad yet but I am afraid he will have a heart attack haha. My dad and I are really close I am just finding the right moment to say it. Congrats to you and your family, a new baby is a great blessing!
