@scaredmomtoBEE:  First, congratulations!! Totally normal to be freaked out. As for showing, every woman is different, but I’m 15 weeks and I’m not showing, you should be totally safe at 9 weeks.

And it will absolutely be okay 🙂 We all worry about miscarriage (I still worry all the time), but there’s nothing that worrying will do, so stay as calm as you can, make a doctor’s appointment (they likely won’t see you until 8-10 weeks unless they do a confirmation appointment), and enjoy the process 🙂

Congratulations! I don’t have children but I wouldn’t think 9 weeks would be enough to make your dress not fit.

Congratulations. It can be overwhelming and wonderful all at the same time, but try to relax. I know its hard!

I am 10 weeks and I am showing alittle bit, but I can still wear all my normal clothes for now. Did you already go for your final alteration appt?

To the bees above: She will be 11 weeks pregnant at the wedding, not 9 though, right?

Congratulations! I’ve never been pregnant so can’t offer you any advice there but I think you should just take this as an extra special piece of happy news to make your wedding even more amazing and meaningful. Best of luck to you!

Congrats! Your tummy may start to form but I bet it will be hidden in your dress. Take some time to process and just enjoy the excitement.

@VickyAurea:  Good point, it depends on how far along the doctor told her based on her last period.

@VickyAurea:  Good point, and actually, she’ll be 13 weeks, because by the time you find out, you’re already 4 weeks pregnant, so there’s a chance you’ll be showing a TINY bit, but unlikely enough to not fit your dress, and most likely due to bloating more than anything. I still haven’t gained weight at 15 weeks. Come check out the discussion on the December 2012 thread, and maybe ask your question there, because we are all currently between 11 and 15 weeks pregnant. Some have small bumps, others not showing at all.

To OP: Maybe check in with your alterations person to talk about the possibility of making some adjustments if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Congratulations! If you wedding is in 9 weeks and you got a BFP, then most likely you are 4 weeks not and will be 13 weeks by then. Everyone’s body is different. I was thin and never had a stomach and ended up in maternity clothes by 10 weeks, I also went up 2 cup sizes before I even had a belly so your chest may be something to keep in mind. I just couldn’t button my pants but I could still wear some loose fitting clothes. What style is your dress, maybe it’s a style that allows for a little growth? I would take to your seamstress and see what they can do with your dress if needed and how much notice they need. And if you do get morning sickness, it usually starts to subside after 12 weeks.

Just think how wonderful this is that you are starting of your married life with such happy and exciting news! Relax and breathe!

@scaredmontoBEE- I was so confused when I got pregnant. Basically it goes by the life of the egg. So they start from your last pay period, when you ovulate the egg is already 2 weeks, and therefore when you take BFP you are already 4 weeks (unless you took it early). So the fetus is only 2 weeks of age, but you are 4 weeks along in your pregnancy. So as of today you are 4weeks 2 days pregnant.

Yeah, the way doctors count it is by the first day of your last period (I believe). So although you’ve only been ACTUALLY pregnant for 2 weeks, probably, they would count you as 4 weeks.
