The doctor will use the first day of your last period until the fetus is big enough to measure accurately.  Expect your due date to change a few times over the course of your pregnancy.

I would suspect that since you just took out the Mirena on June 5 that your aren’t yet regulated and you probably ovulated earlier than expected so I would say your due date is the last week of March, first week of April, which would put you around 3-4 weeks along which can definitely show up on pregnancy tests.

If you had your period on the 28th, there’s no way you could get a BFP right now. It would be too early. I wouldn’t say that was your actual period..maybe just breakthrough bleeding?

Was your period heavy? Maybe you had ovulation spotting?

Unfortunately after coming off hormonal birthcontrol, it’s SO hard to know when you conceived unless you were tracking ovulation. An early ultrasound may be your best bet..just tell your doctor you have no idea when you conceived!

You’re definitely pregnant though!

CONGRATS 🙂 Happy & Healthy pregnancy to youuu!

Hm, since your first period after taking out the mirena was early it sounds like you have been ovulating early. Since you don’t know, I would just use 6/28 as your LMP for the due date calculators. As PPs have said, you’ll know better as the next few months move along and the doctor can do dating based on ultrasounds. Congratulations!!

It’s HIGHLY unlikely that you got two false positives, especially with a digital. It’s more likely that you ovulated early. (Unless you are taking hCG as a dietary supplement?) Since cycle 1 was only three weeks long and you’re already getting two BFPs in cycle 2, it’s likely that you ovulated shortly after your period this month. Not something you see all the time but it can happen. Don’t let the internet get you down, you got your positive tests, give the doc a call!

If you wait until your dating ultrasound or even your nuchal translucency they will just give you an EDD based off of the measurements. You’re right, EDDs are not an exact science. Your conception date really does not matter beyond figuring out when to do your pregnancy test. It is just calculated off of your first day of your last month’s period.

Your DH sees the sad stories. I can say from my mommy groups of nearly 100, most babies are not lost. I would say less than 1/4.

If you’re unsure your GP will definitely get you a dating U/S. Try to relax and find ways to enjoy it! I remember my 1st trimester being very physically difficult and bumpy.

I had well not a similar issue but I ovulate very late in my long cycles, I know bc of ovulation pains not temping, but reguardless, my family dr and my midwife and my back up OB all wanted to give me this weird due date that I knew wasnt right, but hey I’m just the mother so I went with it. But I always said I think I know what day it acctually happened and that totally changes my due date to way later than they were putting it, but it also made my BFP quite early.

Well finally I get my US and guess what baby is meausing for a new later due date…my new due date puts date of conception at the exact day I said it was amazing. =]

Don’t worry too much my due date has changed 3 times already and I imagine it will change again at my 20 week scan. Very few babies are born on their due dates, it just gives you an  a very broad idea of when the litte one will be ready.

Congrats on your BFP =]
